BMW owners movement!

Beautiful bike! I am planning on upgrading to a new GSA in a few years, love the look and the tech features they added. The fog lights LED now as well? They look white whereas the stock ones on my GSA are yellow.

Thanks! Good stuff, you won't be disappointed when you do. The technology is pretty incredible. Clutchless downshifts with the Gear Shift Assist Pro are ridiculously fun. Every time I switch over to my GSXR I'm wondering where the GPS, onboard computer, electronic suspension settings, etc all went. :D

Yes, the fog lights are now LED. I was expecting the yellowish halogen tint as well, especially after coming off a 2013 Explorer XC last that had the halogens. The LED headlight is worth the upgrade as well, it's much brighter - most noticeably during the day, making the bike even more visible.

Apparently it's 180ml of 75w-90 synthetic gear oil. I'll likely go with BMW's unless I find a better option available in canada (that's cheaper and meets spec).

ok gurus...I've got space in my garage a line of a nice R1200S. Anything I should look out for?

Look out for service adviser @ dealership. No guru, no homo, just concerned brethren.

What made you choose to get the BMW over the 2013 Explorer XC? I mean I would take the GSA over it as well.... just curious ;)

Did you try to shift up from 1 to second? Every time I tried its jumping a little....
And downshift - funny farting sometimes.

I avoid 1st-2nd for both up and down shifts. I used to do upshifts 3 through 6th, and downshifts 6th through 2nd, but I'm finding 2nd through 6th for upshifts are now smoothing out as well. Feels almost like the GSAP breaks in with the bike. I'm going to start testing out 1st to 2nd again.

One of the biggest factor was the extended fuel range on the GSA. I also liked the technology (integration with GPS, ESA, etc), and then the looks of course - When I first saw the new GSA I just had to have it. :D

What do you guys think about [h=1]Royal Purple Max Gear 75W-90 High Performance Synthetic Automotive Gear Oil[/h]for FD on r1200gsa? 25 per liter on amazon.

I would think it's fine as long as it's GL-5. You should check out the Gspot section of the ADVrider forum and do a search. Lots of discussion on this over there.

I went with the Castrol SAF-XO from the dealer. It was $55 for 1L but I have the peace of mind knowing I'm using the right stuff.

Did 1000K oil change. Very simple. Next time I will buy measuring cup from dollar store:). Use Rotella T6 and Royal Purple for FD and MAHLE OC619 Oil filter.

Is anyone using 94 Octane fuel in their bike?

Hello BMW owners movement - just putting this out there , just in case you were not aware of it. I have quite a ride coming up and am looking to spread the word. I did speak to BMW Endras who said they would put up posters but have not been back to check. It is FREE and a Good solid day of riding awaits you.

Check it out www.Cannonball500.ca - June 21st, 2015 - Ontario and Alberta kicking off the same day.
Thank you - Cheers

Damn thanks for posting that, hadn't heard of it till now. Likely going starting at Barrie HD.

Cheers!

If s1000rr:
1. Riders plus
2. Meloche
3. Statefarm

s1000r:
pretty much anyone I'd presume.

Riders Plus won't touch an s1000rr. (or any other sport bike) They think it has AIDS
My 2011 S1000rr was/is 3500/yr at TD/Monnex, and 2500/yr at State Farm

Just made a deal for a new 2015 BMW R1200GSA on Saturday with every bell and whistle they have to offer! This will be my first bike and have to say looking forward to it. A few little things bug me about my 2010 GSA, nothing major, just things that should not be an issue on a $30k motorcycle. This is the best picture I have. It comes with all the top box and side panniers, keyless, gear shift pro, Nav V and everything else that is an option!

Not the greatest picture, this is a more drool worthy image.. not mine of course, just snagged it when I was google searching this bike

$30K....sweet jesus. I'm looking to trade up from my bike and started looking at the r1200, Super Tenere and the KTM adventure.....have to say the Super Tenere is looking attractive on price.
