blackberry 10

I just tried Sideloading some Android apps on my Z10..... works reasonably well.

So far Chrome, Google Maps and some Android games. Unfortunately, it won't work with the ones that demand an update or download from the start, but there's a lot of trial and error. Some work, most don't.

http://crackberry.com/how-put-android-apps-your-blackberry-10-device got me started.

There's a link in there somewhere that brings you to a APK to BAR converter.... but I'm still trying to find which apps I want to convert and which will work. Netflix sort of works, it's just really laggy and takes forever to load. But some standard games (Angry Birds, Cut The Rope, Canabalt, Emulators) do work fine.

Give this method a try, works for NEARLY all apps and it's actually pretty simple and quick to do once you've done it a time or two

$5 stock by end Aug or am I getting ahead of myself?

Whatever you took away from that disater Tuesday it's obvious the putz couldn't come up with a game plan.

Not even a pump and dump stok now :(

I don't think it will go that low. It's priced for disaster now. I wouldn't short it ... if someone steps in with an offer to buy the company, the shorts will get jammed.

Disclaimer: I own a little bit of BB, but with call options written against it. Most of my position got called away at June options expiration, which ended up being a good thing. I'm pretty close to playing with the house's money on BB, so I'm not really worried about it.

Oh laaaaawd, won't you please bring me this 5" A10 running OS 10.2 today please? :)

Die RIM, dieeeeeeeeee!

After the release, which was a decent effort, I'll revise to a stable unremarkable year average, with a respectable buy out and the company lives on in some form. I see a switch to this vertical integration taking much more resources and development than BB have the ability to keep pace with and it needing to be augmented by a larger parent company. Heins will bow out once the sale is complete having carried out his duties as a cleaner. They will live on in some form, 12,000 people world wide is too big to fail in a traditional up and bust fashion. Just look at HMV...sold off their North American arm 3 years ago, HMV proper went bankrupt in the UK a couple weeks ago, but will be bought out by the same company that bought their NA arm! This aint no Blockbuster full scale collapse. It ain't Kodak either. BB has more fight in them than that and QNX has potential, where as DVD rentals and film doesn't. Neither company had anything with potential ready to replace their main trade. BB has clearly replaced their maxed out OS. It isn't a format or paradigme shift as it was for the former companies, rather BB is still a digital software company and there is a certain flexibility within that range that they have displayed. Think Zellers to Target, that sort of thing. What would be inspiring though would be more like B&Q, if anyone gets that reference!

So it looks like I was off by about 3 months. BB recedes into the "prosumer" (commercial) niche market with a looming (MS?) buyout. It's over! Doctor is about to call it! "looking for a buy out" to keep their enterprise efforts going.

They grew too quickly and hired recklessly.

Even with the cuts, they have 7600 employees. Yeah it's bad news and unfortunate for the workers, but that's business. They're not dead...yet.

Just sayin' if I saw it....they should have seen it years in advance and averted it. RIM was 15,000 worth of Canadians who were poor excuses for something

Where's that post where I said they're gonna tank in one year ?
I don't like to see things like this but people's gotta recognise a sinking ship when they see one

Sorry to hear of the job cuts. Sucks to be a RIM employee right now.

A company you guys might be familiar with, went through a painful process like this before back in 1997.

For the rest of us......

-"BBM for all" released this weekend for iOS and Android

-FREE BB premium apps. Just go to BB World, swipe down from the top, tap "Redeem", type "FallApps", and blamo!

-10.2 coming for Z10 in October with further improvements to the already excellent OS.

-BB Bridge has been updated for BB10 devices so we could do everything with our playbooks that we used to do with OS7.

Sad news about the job losses. Waterloo likely isn't a happy place this weekend and definitely not a good time to be graduating into this industry right now.

Do you watch NFL at all? C'MON MAN!! :lmao:

Bre-X
Nortel (obviously a different scenario)
Remember these guys? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Studebaker_Canada
Sadly, BBRY will be the latest Cdn company to fall off the cliff, regardless how much you pump them here.
(do you post on any BBRY message boards - i.e. Stockhouse, yahoo finance, ragingbull etc?.........I'd love to read your posts)

I always knew you were my number 1 fan. :)

p.s. if you recall my other thread, I predicted from 2010 that Android would run away with this.

I never reply to any posts I read on financial forums. It's just funny how 'pumpers' and 'dumpers' write their thoughts.
Honestly - I'd enjoy your 'pumping' posts. If there are any, email, or pm me a link - thanks!!

No need to link up anything to 2010.
Unless you post up how great Studebaker is, and how it's going to survive, I'm not paying attention :p

Not a word about the Z30? You're losing your touch man.

Sorry to disappoint, I can only take so much of "forums". GTAM provides me with all the entertainment and fun I'll ever need.

My bad, I am losing it.

Still limping on whether to upgrade to it, or the new Sony Z1. Note 3 is looking good too, but can't stomach Samsung. Whatever I end up choosing, it has to have a 5" screen. Sorry Apple.
