Bikers Own The Road - DVP - August 13, 2012 (Fiiltering)

Looking at the nearly concealed license plates, my first thought was uninsured turkeys.

Bingo. my thoughts exactly, plus they probably ride like ***** all the time so they need to conceal their plates so people don't call them in. IMO Losers.

If they were real dick riders the plates would be flipped... Shenanigans that's all

i tell you why i care.... because people see that build up a beef against bikers.
because police see that and are less forgiving. because insurance companies see that and raise insurance...

so i am just curious, why dont you care?

Because I don't

And pretty mild shenanigans really. I need to check my shortcuts, accidently ended up here on GTANannies.com by mistake.

After my accident everyone at work started going about how motorcycles are dangerous and how careless we are lane splitting and all of that.

I got fingers pointed at me and I have never done this. Just goes to show our reputation and even when not @ fault we get blame and flamed for everything. Then people question bad cagers and their ability to cut us off n ****....

But hey everyone drives however they want really

I expected a lot worse from the title. I don't know the DVP but are there signs saying no passing in the area with the solid lines? I couldn't see any in the video which means that there was nothing illegal about the bike's lane changes over the line.

Questionable riding? Maybe.

Close lane changes? Yes.

Fail? Yes, the same Gixxer seen as the 2nd bike in the vid ends way ahead of the video car in the end as a result of his lane changing... a whole 5 feet ahead.

And I don't think that car in front of the video car was brake checking... I think it's a nervous nelly trying to figure out which exit is theirs.

Solid lines are no changing lanes. There's also a sign.

I don't want to be a cop and point out what they are doing and how they ride.

I'm assuming some users here really didn't watch it till the end.

The last rider at the end of the vid, look what at what he's doing.

If you were stuck on the DVP, why would you follow another rider and then later be charged?

The point of the video was to show how stupid those guys are in my opinion. I'm not going to start an argument, start a useless online debate like the 100 lane splitting/filtering threads.

Did it hurt your feelings when people at work pointed a finger? i dont know what happened on your accident but it was probably due to lack of experience and not hooligan behavior, so you should have corrected them and move on, not your fault you work with idiots, do not blame it on these guys on the video

At the end of the video the guy lane split, it makes it illegal not necessarily dangerous, going 105km/h on the 401 is also illegal, is it dangerous? according to our nanny's it is but we all do it

This thread would be annoying if it had any merit, but since it doesn't its just entertaining

Ill be honest here....maybe it's just me but the only thing they did wrong which I think is minor anyways is crossing the solid line. But other than that they were not in any excessive speed and change lanes safely. So the bike can maneuver easily than a car but thats a given.
This is lane splitting......

The other day a driver was all mouth and hands next to me as I met up with them at the head of the light. I couldn't tell what they were saying cause I had my beats going, then they made the "shame shame" fingers at me, presumably for filtering. When I managed to find my pause button on my earphones, I finally registered what they were (now) saying. It seems they had been light hearted about their earlier animated ramblings and were actually saying "You bikers always get through traffic so easily, my ex had a bike, I want one now, yeah I want one, I am tired of sitting in traffic". To which I replied "start on a scooter, they cut through traffic better, less negative attention, and ticket wardens don't ding you for stuffing your scoot on any sidewalk in town".

Then I filtered on and left them in my polite dust.

Used to come back from the MotoGP race in Donnington 3 hrs north of London. Over head traffic signs used to deliberately slow highway traffic down by posting "slow traffic ahead" every 50 kms (it was found to be a common tactic by traffic monitoring agencies who deliberately created phanton jams). Anyways, imagine the scene....3 hours of nearly 50,000 bikers splitting 3 lanes of highway, through stopped or crawling traffic!!! We would normally go through no less than 4 to 6 massive phantom jams over 20kms in length and aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaalways started by those digital highway signs. Chicken and the egg I know right.....but the jam always started 100m after one of those signs and never had a cause at the end of it!

Anyways.....I miss those splitting days. Oh yeah, no accidents and no nannies.

We'll never be able to get lane filtering/splitting legal.

The ones who do it are much less vocal than the little grandmothers on here. Can some of you please go to one of the Asian countries (not stating Chinese only) and go talk about lane splitting there, see if anyone has any ****s to give.

We don't live in one of those countries.
