HD Sticker !?!, I don't have that kind of money !?!Slap an HD sticker on and you're are good to go. As long as it has a logo, everything is allowed.

I've got some Joe Exotic stickers you can have. They add to the adventure.HD Sticker !?!, I don't have that kind of money !?!
Do they provide the 5hp boost as well?I've got some Joe Exotic stickers you can have. They add to the adventure.
Maybe more.Do they provide the 5hp boost as well?
Interesting. Right now I find all the wind is hitting me in the chest or face. I'm kinda tall at 6',2" and even putting the screen higher didn't change anything. I'll give lowering it shot. At least it I'll experience all the ranges.Funny how everything is relative. 'Light' is not a word I'd use to describe mine, but I've also never ridden a Harley.
Be aware that the quest for more wind protection can backfire with increased buffeting and noise. Turbulence is common on many bikes with the screen that far forward. If you do end up with buffeting, try a shorter screen (or none at all) to get clean undisturbed air around your head. And if you find it noisy, try removing the mirrors as an experiment. I'm not sure about the current bikes, but the stock mirrors on the 1st gen bikes added a surprising amount of wind noise.
Lol,He's already on it. GTAM is it.
Half the people who post on here own V-Stroms... Probably more than half if you account for ex-owners. (raises hand)
I assume @sburns is also on here: StromTrooper
Haha probably the moment I sat on your bike.I knew this day would come
I'm not sure where the redline is on that model, but generally speaking those bikes like to have the engines wrung out. I woud often ride at 120km/hr in the twisties in 5th gear to be in the sweet spot of powerband and have better access to power to accelerate or engine braking on corner approach without needing the brakes. I don't think I ever touched 6th gear in the twisties and I just used the 6th gear for riding on the highway or to save gas..
You aren't sitting on that bike the way you were sitting on the Harley, so you don't need as powerful a rear brake. On that upright bike, the front is doing ~80% of your braking on pavement. Save the rear brake for slow speed stuff and modulating some brake when you just want a touch.
And congrats!!
The controls for the most part are very good. Some stuff I am getting use to. on HD's the turn signals are on each side, and auto cancel. Now they are in 1 place. I still find myself trying to press the signal when it's not there, or forgetting to turn it off.How are you liking the ergonomics compared to the hog?
Also you're gonna have to deal with chain maintenance now eh?
I used to ride with full face but no visor helmet (kinda old school look)Interesting. Right now I find all the wind is hitting me in the chest or face. I'm kinda tall at 6',2" and even putting the screen higher didn't change anything. I'll give lowering it shot. At least it I'll experience all the ranges.
Also I'm still riding with my half helmet. Just use to it. I have a full modular haven't tried it, might cure everything.
Ok so at first I thought the bike had no power. HD's and the torque is quite noticable. But as I'm learning this bike likes to be in the 4k+ range. And getting it there doesn't take much effort. Also I'm still breaking it in and I'm suppose to keep it at 5k and under. I think once that is complete I'll be able to fully understand the power delivery.
Thanks! and for the windscreen offer.YESSSSSSS another Stromtrooper.
WELCOME.
Head on over to StromTrooper . You will find $hit load of info there. Very useful.
Congrats on the new bike.
Did you take advantage of the recent test rides Suzuki had?
Those are both great addons how long is the extended warranty for?I did take advantage of the Suzuki promo for free first service and extended warranty though, which was a nice bonus.
Yeah same thing. I'm so use to the half and fresh air and sunglass. It's very comfortable. Yes not the safest, but great. Also my field of vision is very wide, no bulk from helmet blocking the sides.I used to ride with full face but no visor helmet (kinda old school look)
I switch to a full face with visor and with my windscreen at it's highest, I barely get any air hitting me.
Kind of like driving with the windows open.
I might have to explore this idea, without my side cases I can't carry anything, thanks for the reminder!Remember milk crates aren,t just for KLRs
core strengthening does wondersMy lower back doesn't like it so much, but I think I need to sit more with my core.
I have no idea how high the windscreens are for each bike, but at the highest setting I still look way over mine.Yeah same thing. I'm so use to the half and fresh air and sunglass. It's very comfortable. Yes not the safest, but great. Also my field of vision is very wide, no bulk from helmet blocking the sides.
This is kinda why I went with a modular. I can turn it into a 3/4 and still just use sunglasses.
I'm going to give the new helmet a shot so I can get use to it.
Yeah the HD's are a bike you definitely can listen to and know when to do stuff.I got used to my Sportster tell me the speed by vibration. When I switched to a Goldwing that was gone. I realized it as I was heading into a corner way too fast. Fortunately I had some braking distance left to rub off the excess.
I agree with this, switching back to a higher motorcycle, I really felt my ride and maneuvering the bike while seated.core strengthening does wonders
Also you can standup on the footpegs like a dirt bike while riding every now and then to get some relief/blood flow
Thanks, yeah I'll be heading over that way soon enough.Welcome to the club! As mentioned above, everything you need to know about Stroms can be found here: StromTrooper
GreyGhost: VTom can be found there too, as he continues to rack up the miles. He's logged over 750,000 km on Stroms to date.
BTW, that chain looks tight.
