I've seen the leash across the trail result in a crash. Dog owner then tried to attack biker for hurting her dog. Stupid entitled twat. Felt bad for the dog.
Really the dog should be taken away for its safety....

At 20kph the closing speed is roughly 18 feet per second. By the time the owner reacts and the dog reacts... how many seconds. That assumes the bike is going the speed limit AND sees the leash and gives good warning before it is too late.... An e-bike at 35 kph is roughly 32 fps, but that is another thread! If they don't care about the safety of their dog, don't have a dog!

Mixed use path or bicycle only? If it's mixed use, the cyclist MUST yield to pedestrians.
Even if it's bicycle only, you don't f'ing hit something because you're right.
Bicycle should be taken away for its safety...

Had a pair of cyclists holding hands, riding the Goodman trail near the long downhill. I went around them on the grass and hit a wine bottle left over from Caribana, which blew the front tire. Crashed on the trail when I tried to stop. Bicycle shirts and shorts roll up when you slide. I won't do that again.
Anyways, if the cyclists are riding the roads or sidewalks through High Park at speed, and running stop signs and crosswalks, they should switch to riding the sand at the beach and build up some endurance:

Probably mixed-use? Whatever the extension of martin goodman is through mississauga. Extendable leash (thin dark rope kind). Dog on grass left of trail, walker about 1/3 of the way in from right of trail. Cyclist went between them probably thinking the dog was off leash and stupid walker hadn't left enough room on their right. Kablammo.

This post isn’t the place for sensible comments.

Well, you have to be somewhat lenient for bicyclists. After all, they're bicyclists.

If a bicyclist runs a stop sign, I stop rather than running them over, even though they're wrong. Same thing with kids running across the road, or animals on extendo leashes. I stop. I may discuss the situation with the person, but I stop. Discussion is tough with bicyclists, as they always seem to be in a hurry. Especially, if they've done property damage, or injured someone/something.

My BIL was knocked off his bike near Sunnyside beach. A bunch of people helped him get his bearings and back on his feet. Ready to go again, he noticed his wallet was gone.

If you're referring to my post... I was crossing the trail he was riding on, not walking along it. It was an 'intersection' on two trails. The dog was ahead of me about 3-4 feet... when the cyclist came up on us.... and he was moving at a good clip around a blind bend in the trail... fast enough that he obviously wasn't overly concerned with other's safety. I'd seen him riding many times before that incident.. and a few times since. That particular guy is an ass about his riding.
I'd have to double check.. but think the speed limit for bikes on those trails is 8kph. That guy was going way faster than that.

A bunch of cyclist wouldn't "share the road" to let me by when I honked. I pulled the killer onto the shoulder and when by them in full roost mode. Eat dust wankers.
I like your style. I do it a but differently, I'll eventually pass the Pelton then take the Tete de la Course position. I normally run in first gear and keep 5 feet ahead for a few km.

I have a lot of friends who are great cyclists, and others who are great motorcyclists. Both tend to follows the rules, cyclists chest on stops, motorcyclists on speed.

Both sports have an idiot component responsible for negative stereotypes. The main difference I see is the bad motorcyclists don't whine or look for special entitlements.

Isnt there an active thread on dodging 407 cameras in a bike because it should be free for them?

That falls into squidding, not whining.

8km/h on a bike? I run faster than that and i'm not a fast runner by any means
I've normally seen the speed limit on most multi-use trails set at 20kph
