Bethany 2013

Heads-up for those who haven't been following the official ODSC thread - apparently Haugen's is no longer open for breakfast; so if you want breakfast before the start of the Bethany better grab some before arriving at Haugen's!

A bunch of us are meeting up in Port Perry (5 minutes from Haugen's staging point) at Hyland Family Restaurant at around 9am for those interested:

1866 Scugog St, Port Perry

Hmmm... might meet you there!

Yes, I also have a hand air-pump in my kit.

Why take an extra spark plug? Maybe watching this video of WudzRydr pre-riding the Bethany will help answer that ;)

(I know a new spark plug won't help a broken engine, but it's easy to water-out bikes on this ride)

For those joining my group - I intend on taking NONE of the bypasses... be warned now :)

That wasn't the Bethany. It was a practice run for the Beagle Bash. There isn't any real deep water on the ride this year. Some muddy sections but not much water. Also expect more pavement than usual.

I have to work tomorrow so unfortunately I won't be there. Have fun everyone!

Have a good time guys - I've done it on a drz400, then a dr650 & when the economy tanked, slummed it on an ancient xt200 - it's always a good time. Pix / vids please.

Great ride today guys - even if we kept getting separated :/

Here's my kodak moment of the day:

Great time guys! Best ride I've had in forever...
great group to ride with can make all the difference.
Thanks guys.

Pat, you found your way home Ok? I don't know where we left you, but it's good to see you made it ok without us. Was there others that came up to you later?

That was one heck of an introduction to offroading! I had some challenges but had an awesome time.

My legs did start to cramp up on the ride back to Barrie so I'm glad I packed it in at "lunch"

I had master navigator Scuba Steve with me, he did an awesome job of getting us un-lost... twice :) Dave L and I took the back roads to get to Haguens in the morning, but I said f' it and just drove through Newmarket and took the 400 to get home. My bike is faster on the highway than I thought. I'll leave it at that ;)

Also if you didn't see it in the other thread, pics: http://db.tt/C0OT3QuV and my slow *** mud video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-l27_L04X0U&feature=youtu.be I keep looking back waiting to see if others are coming, so it's not terribly exciting in parts.

Here's my video-journal of the Bethany 2013 - once again great ride guys, we'll have to head to the Ganny sometime soon and hit some single-track next!

Ha ha, you got video of me stuck in that muddy rut it felt like I was in there for a hour but on the video its only 2 min! Thanks for your help.

23:01 - 24:30? Was that Post Road? I remember passing by you, and someone helping you (figured it was another stall). That looked like it took some effort :)

Glad I didn't get stuck back there.

So Sick, wish i could have made it.

When is the next one?

If you have an OFTR membership and you're in SCORRA, there's a new member intro day coming up on the 18th. You'll get a guided tour of Hendrie, and possibly some other tracts.
