Best Sounding Exhaust??

I have an 09 zx6r with t bros - with the silencer on it.. I really like it.. nice low rumble at low revs - sounds great at high rpm too..

Had to install the blockoff plates after installing it cause I got a lot of popping on decel. Many slip ons suffer from that..

Do you have the P1 or the P1X silencer insert? In my Two Bro's, going from no insert to the P1X totally changed how it sounds! Just nice deep rumble, still gets loud when you spank her :)

IMO, the following are in order for best sounding slip-ons:

-Termignoni
-Racefit Growler
-Akro
-Arrow
-Arata
-Sato
-Yosh

IMO Stay away from:

-Two Brothers
-D&D
-M4GP
-Jardine

I guess I should've included that in the original post lol....

Kawasaki ZX6-R 2008
To start with *facepalm* about you wanting an exhaust because of your friends..but however

I had the same bike, look on YouTube, there is a mod you can do to your exhaust that it will make it sound better than anything you can buy..and its free

Alot of the brands that you listed are un-available for my bike....

I am leaning towards two brothers or YOSHI at the moment.
Akro is quite expensive

All the youtube clips i've seen in this thread sounds like the exhaust is made out of a coffee can. the best info i read so far was to keep the exhaust OEM since the noose will be tightening regarding emissions and noise.

When is the noise by law expected to tighten up ??
They have been talking about this for years....
And an exhaust has nothing to do with emissions

It's already in effect in Caledon and Oakville. It's only a matter of time until move regions adopt it and then ultimately the province.

As for emissions, does the cat need to be removed when a slip on or full system is installed?

Stock exhausts are just too quiet IMO, I had 2 other bikes with completely stock exhausts and the #1 comment I ever got was "when are you changing your exhaust". This time my bike already had a 2bros and I personally love that its so damn loud (reminds me of C-Notes exhaust) I think anything that helps with Toronto drivers seeing/hearing you is a good thing, as I feel drivers in this city are getting worse. I want the cars around me to know where I am, I could care less if they dislike it. As for all the ricer comments.. its a 4 banger with an exhaust..of course its going to sound "ricey"..

Steibel > 2bros

loud pipes don't save lives

Loud horns might.

I completely agree, the horn is much better than the exhaust as a pure acoustic warning device. BUT the loud "noise" off these cans does create awareness in certain situations, where a horn is not necessary. I would get both. :D

They're all not bad.. some better constructed than others... I have a Hindle, an Arata, some Akrapovics... they're all good. I think the Akrapovics are the best sounding without being harsh or ear-splitting. The Hindle is a bit cheaper looking but it's built like a tank and may not be as expensive...

For ghad's sake don't get a M4 or a D&D.
