Best place to buy a Ducati?

I found this thread very entertaining, and I am not sharing any particular negative/positive experiences, just a general observation - I think many salespeople will look at your on arrival and evaluate your "potential" and react accordingly. I personally found that I am always ignored and even if I ask I still would be attended very last LOL. I found it funny and my friend told me to stop wearing t-shirts and sneakers and to buy an expensive watch but I don't see the point as I am still too far from a real baller :) So, so far my sneakers generally more expensive than my (g-shock) watches and I plan for extra time when I want to buy a new thing which involves salespeople. Wish you don't take it all too seriously. Cheers.

P.S. regarding dealerships and Ducati - I would def buy at GP bikes as over the years I managed to get to know a few ppl htere, so it's like home by now, not need to fight for attention or impress anybody - just call ahead and setup time.

Every time I walk into a dealer I’m generally wearing running shoes, jeans and a grey zip-up hoodie. If they don’t take me seriously because I’m not wearing name brand clothing, well that’s too bad for them.

I have forwarded this thread to the sales dept at Apex.
If i don't get help from sales staff in a business, i ask for it. Are you people shy?

seriously what. i didnt know so many were so uptight/get so mad if a worker doesn't say hi or greet you lol. jesus.

its one thing if you're standing at a counter clearly waiting for someone to wait on you and theres just workers ignoring you. but when browsing some bikes? who cares. if i want something, i'll ask. otherwise, don't talk to me.

I’m been a mostly sales weasel my career so I’d like to think I’ve seen it all . From ignore me pls I’m just looking to , I couldn’t finance this on my best day ever but I need you to wait on me hand and foot .
You get them all , yes it’s important to nod and acknowledge a potential customer, it’s just polite . But some onus is on the customer to walk over to a group and say “ hey boys let’s talk about x” , because your interpretation of guy’s chitchatting my be talking one sales guy in off the ledge as he just spent 20 mins with a dick head customer.
I have had a very good customer experience with Apex . I also bought my first Ducati at the now defunct Downtown Ducati . And I have had a good experience with Tony at Peninsula.

My advice would be buy from whomever is closest to where you live , make a connection with the sales guy/gal and the service manager . And remember your buy a whole dealership relationship if your smart about it . Buy on price and then start a thread about buying a bike 200 kms away and the local dealer putting you three weeks out for service .

It’s so much better for everyone when your easy to work with .

Hey all,

Finally had some time and made it to GP bikes. I was greeted upon entry as I walked around atleast 2 people came up asking if I needed help. Asked to Jeremy. He was busy with a customer. They paged him and came over to say he's dealing with another customer would help me shortly.

He was upfront saying the list price is final and no deals because of supply chain etc... I'm going see the v2 they have coming in this week and then decide.

I bought my 1090R from Jeremy. The transaction was pleasant, and efficient and completed without any delays or issues. He's a nice fellow and gives good service.

This is really all I want from a purchase and anything less would be unacceptable. I think it's a reasonably low bar really.

I've been a customer of GP for a long time but have only bought 2 bikes from them over the years. Both experiences, and the service I've received afterwards has strengthened the relationship. The staff know the products they sell very well, and give plenty of attention to the customer they're serving. The downside of that is that on a busy day you WILL have to wait. also the service department is very busy so you need to book well in advance.

In my opinion, Jerry (the owner) deserves a lot of credit for putting the right people in place, giving them enough latitude/authority to provide a high level of service and continuing to invest and grow the business.

100%
I was told it might take something like 5 weeks for delivery(of a bike in stock, so no shipping needed) if I were to buy a bike, because there were 100 bikes ahead of me in the service dept queue

I guess they do inspections and replace belts etc before delivering a bike to customers?
