Best place to buy a Ducati?

I dunno, I get it.

But this type of interaction never bothered me. I have no problem going to someone and asking for service.

^This... depends on which side of the city you are on.

I bought my 950s last year at GP. One of the nice perks there, they give you a one time 20% off gear.

That really adds up if you are buying a helmet, jacket, Etc....

GP did the same for me. Even let me use it on a full Klim suit which they don’t normally do apparently.

I looked at the Multistradas when I bought the Tiger. GP had lots of Ducatis and even one MV Agusta.

Hey all,

Sorry for not responding... Just been crazy.

Apex cycle was in my route today... Small detour went there ready to sign for a bike. Actually had cash on me so I could pay for the bike outright.

Went in there stood for a few min. No acknowledgement. No offer to help. I even made eye contact with a few people who I assume worked there no one came up.

About 3-4 guys standing there drinking coffee chit chatting.

I walked out. This place doesn't want my business. Good luck to apex cycle but I'm sure you'll fail with service like this.
this was my experience as well (but at GP, not apex)
its like all the ducati dealers are snobby or something

Other than some of the old 1% harley shops, I found them to be much friendlier. They dont care what you have or what you make as long as it's enough to get you qualified for a very long loan.
^this has been my experience as well

I'm not justifying it, but this is what happens when a dealer has a hundred tire kickers and then one real customer. You just have to be outspoken.

I manage multiple brands in retail.... If this was one of our stores and we didn't acknowledge the guest. Head would roll and ROEs would be given out.
If I learned someone got fired because they were legitimately too busy in their other duties to smile and say good morning when I’m standing 20ft away I’d probably spend my money somewhere else. 🤷🏻‍♂️

But seriously, I understand the guest experience and the expectations from on high.

I used to hate it when salespeople would hover.

At this point I like to browse a little before someone approaches me, but if they don't, I'll go and ask.

If everybody is doing make-work and ignoring me when I ask, I'll leave.

Best is when someone gives me a couple of minutes to get oriented, then comes to see me.

I get what some of you are saying but I respectfully disagree. In our brands, if a guest entered our store no matter how busy someone is they would go and acknowledge the guest and would say 'hey welcome. Please take a look around and I'll be with you as soon in a few min'

The fact that there were people just chit chatting and no one cares ****** me off.

it was a weird experience for me going to GP...I didnt realize the place was so small compared to many other dealers...they had a million bikes cramped into one tiny place..(space is costly that close to toronto I guess) so anyway I spend basically half an hour twiddling me thumbs, looking at bikes, I tried to talk to a bunch of sales people but they all seemed to be running around chaotically to no place in particular

I had never been in there before, so it was cool to check it out, but no one came and spoke to me about anything, everyone seemed to be superficially busy, and had no time for me it seemed ,like a flea market in calcutta ,so after half an hour I just left 🤷‍♂️

I’ve had days at GP where I couldn’t get any attention and wanted to buy something and days where I had a dozen employees offering to help when all I wanted was to browse.
Like most dealers it’s just often like that.
If they look busy running around they likely are.

Salesmen looking busy. It's a Costanza thing.

I've been to Apex twice in the last month and had the exact same experience as LiNK666 both times. The last time my gf was with me and sat on a few bikes as she's interested in getting back into biking. Not a single APEX employee even acknowledged us. We eventually walked out. We had the exact opposite experience at the Harley dealer next door where every employee acknowledged and chatted with us and had her sit on several bikes and answer all of her questions.

tis the season, bikes are selling themselves lately, higher demand lower product

in my experience apex is usually good, every time im there, I either buy a bike or they throw me keys to test rides.(in which case I buy a bike again?)
There is also space to roam in apex, which I like, big fella like me dont need to be pushing people over like at GP, and the employees are usually at desks, so if I want to talk to someone, dont have to chase them down national geographic style

I ordered some parts from Apex in the Spring of 2020. I’m still waiting to hear from them. I called twice in the summer of 2020 looking for updates and both times the answer I received was “blah….blah….Covid….don’t call us, we’ll call you.”
