Hey all,

It's been a few years. Trying to get back into riding now. Looking at getting a Ducati... Monster or Street fighter.

What dealership do you recommend going and talking to? With supply chain the way it is... Is it going to be this is the price take it or any deals happening?

Will be less deals for sure, even on older stock.

GP Bikes in Whitby or Apex Cycle in Cambridge is where I would start.

^This... depends on which side of the city you are on.

I bought my 950s last year at GP. One of the nice perks there, they give you a one time 20% off gear.

That really adds up if you are buying a helmet, jacket, Etc....

GP Bikes in Whitby and talk to Jeremy. I've bought 5 bikes from him over the years, great guy and will get you the best deal he can. I find it also makes a difference who you buy it from.
Edit: Ben is also very good. He used to own Ben's Motorcycles up near Peterborough.

My experience with Apex and GP has been good. One visit to GP, looking at a Triumph Street Triple, I was randomly offered a test ride on the Ducati Supersport by Jeremy. Didn't plan for it but thoroughly enjoyed it. At Apex, the only hiccup I've had was getting heated grips installed with a new bike purchase. Delivery date got pushed back 2-3 times because of it, without much notice (1-2 days). Was inconvenient as I had a friend lined up to give me a ride to Cambridge, but other than that, great experience as well.

There is also peninsula in oakville, they tend to be less popular for some reason but they also sell ducatis

I feel like ducati sells a bunch of naked bikes...monsters...street fighters...even the hypermotards are basically naked bikes

I go to Peninsula, Tony and John are excellent and they stock most Ducati performance parts. I was treated terribly at GP bikes, not by Jerry but I emailed him about it and he couldn't care less. I will never buy a single part from them again.

The way things are right now, check around and see who has what you want.
Inventory levels are going to be in the dumpster - get what you can get from whoever's got it.

where do people go to get desmo service done? has anyone been to kens motoworks in whitby?

I’ll be attempting my own at some point this summer. Prepping with a lot of YouTube and maybe get my hands on some some version of LT Snyder’s guide

I’m not TOO scared. I’ve done my share of shim under bucket stuff before but never this. And I also only have a 2V.

I’m more scared about finding parts if needed. Will order belts right away but don’t want to order a whole shim kit (just to find them all within spec)

I bought my Multistrada from GP and the experience was good. They let me take out every Ducati I wanted to help me decide (I ended up taking out around 7 different Ducati’s) and they have me an excellent deal on the Multi without any hiccups or hidden crap. Even gave me some accessories at cost.
I always took it to Kens in Whitby for service. After selling my Multistrada and buying the BMW it too will be taken to Kens (just sent some tires there this week to be put on when the weather improves).

7 different bikes?
Were they all used?

The way that motorcycle brands are franchised out, you're only going to have one or two dealerships in your area, and maybe three if you want to drive a couple of hours out of your way.

In the GTA, you've basically got GP Bikes out in the east end, Peninsula in the west end and Apex in Cambridge.

I've bought close to two dozen motorcycles from dealerships all over the GTA, and IMO, when you've visited enough shops for sales and services often enough, eventually *EVERY* dealership is going to disappoint you. I have good and bad stories from every place I've patronized. Just look at the stories above, "So and So is great!" and then someone else chimes in: "Nope, had a bad experience there."

I've bought Ducs from both GP and Peninsula. Overall, I'll give the nod to GP, but I've had good and bad experiences at both places.

As for deals, these days, in this low-supply/high-demand environment, you're only going to be able to wheel and deal for inventory that's sitting on the showroom floor, and most of it is either New Old Stock and/or unpopular models. If you want an in-demand 2022 model from their allocation that's coming in, then you're pretty much paying full pop for it.

Hey all,

Sorry for not responding... Just been crazy.

Apex cycle was in my route today... Small detour went there ready to sign for a bike. Actually had cash on me so I could pay for the bike outright.

Went in there stood for a few min. No acknowledgement. No offer to help. I even made eye contact with a few people who I assume worked there no one came up.

About 3-4 guys standing there drinking coffee chit chatting.

I walked out. This place doesn't want my business. Good luck to apex cycle but I'm sure you'll fail with service like this.
