A 1983 Nissan Pulsar Thermo switch fixes most of the heat problem, turns the fan on about 15c sooner than stock.
The best VFR is the 5th Gen 98-01. I have ridden the Vtec versions and didn't like the power transfer at all.
The VFR is a fast bike, I easily keep up with my buddy on his duck. But it is a bit heavier due to the swing-arm.
The 5th gen bikes still had the gear driven cam's and fuel injection. I will never sell mine.

I didn't mind the looks of my 2003 and then 2007 Gsxr1000. I really liked my 2004 ZX10, but It was a Track bike so I have no idea about commuting. It seemed fine, the frame did get really hot and actually burned my knees slightly.

ya i dont mind the looks of the 03 or 07 either but the 02 looks extremely dated! that hot huh? I find alot of kawis run hot!
I actually may just go with an r6 or something? I had a couple 03's and loved it. Never ever felt hot, and was actually a very comfortable riding position.

I can see why you love the 2003 era R6.. I had one too and loved it for it's midrange!
Having said that, go test ride the 2011 CBR 100RR ... I have an 08 and love it.
The riding position is almost the same as the R6, so I'd have to say it's actually quite comfy.
The exhaust is down low so your crotch will never get hot (maybe your right foot a little, but nothing major)
Lastly, there is a lot to be said about the midrange HP and Torque on this bike... as well as the mpg and fuel range. I consistently get something like 220+ km before my light comes on (that's after burning 13L of fuel) .. so city/highway is about 17 km per liter... if you do highway, it'll be 20-22 km/l depending on your speed (100-120ish)

I'd say those charts are pretty spot on for the north american bikes, especially when comparing to other recent 1000s (R1, Gixxer) .. it feels like it's weak (down 10 hp) compared to other 1000s before 5,000... but once you get to 5000 it just says "hello, nice to meet you!"

It's just a cash grab. Mythbusters debunked this scam. Think the episode is on Netflix. They tried the spray and the cover and both sucked just as bad as the other.
