It should be worth the ride! L.A. Frank's, 104 Water ST, Cambridge, Ontario a burger joint with ice cream , fries,, hot dogs ,, but it is very popular, and busy... they do a GREAT job to move the line up ... fast service.. picnic tables beside the Grand River... and wed nights is cruise night if you want to see Hot Rod cars.. and a few Bikes parked across the street...

Not too far away is the Old Marina Lake restaurant on Puslinch lake.. if you can get a patio seat... the burger there is actually more of meat loaf with bread,, pretty big... good meal!

I had it on tuesday. It was pretty terrible.
Im curious, do you think a burger should be made on a BBQ so all the grease (aka flavour) should leak out?
Personally on a griddle is how a real burger should be made.
I much prefer a burger cooked on a charcoal grill, medium rare. Just don't overcook the patty and it will stay juicy.
One of the best burgers I've ever had was seared on the flat top till it had a crust and then finished on the grill.
But generally I prefer burgers grilled apposed to fried. But most places tend to use to low a heat for initial searing and that mixed with constant moving of the burger lets alot of the juices and flavor out.

Over the years I've tried that place three times. All three times were terrible.
Man has taste. Nothing beats charcoal. I'll have one of those bbq's forever. :thumbup:

they use real wood for the grill so if you're eating indoors, you'll smell smokey all day ... but it's so worth it. great sweet potato fries too
Note on Burger Priest: If I have to gobble someone's privates to get access to the "secret menu" (probably using their "special sauce"

Woody's has great burgers (remember that they grind on location so will cook the burger to taste.. mmmmm rare-medium-rare), great combinations, cold beer.... They even improved their fries and won't rape you for the gravy. Also, everything you wanna eat is on the menu and they are accommodating about making reasonable modifications to the packages

I'll probably get flamed for not reading 9 pages of posts, but if no one has mentioned Baldwin Street Burger in Brooklin, it's phenomenal, and a good stop on the way north to Simcoe or the Haliburton Highlands.
When i first started going there they were terrible. They are pretty great now.
Wouldn't call them "great" but they're a long way from what they used to be - probably in the "ok" range

...and why was it so terrible?
I've eaten there dozens of times and have taken many friends and family there and all have really enjoyed it.
Their Onion Rings are great too!

The patty itself was not badly made it seemed though it was over cooked. The bacon was way over done, the bun was terrible and the patty was dry. Also the fries were gross.
Both me and my brother thought it was terrible. We both agreed that a McDonalds burger would have been a treat after that.
I agree with the Burger's Priest reviews. so-so over-hyped burgers. 3 out of 5 stars.

Second the Rock-a-bacon burger! Georgian Circle, Wasaga Beach. You must try one!
There's still a Toby's in Jackson Square, Hamilton, so I'll have to go back for a Mushroom Burger. I just cannot believe that no one has mentioned O'Neill's and their infamous Pugger Burger. It's one pound of beef, cooked over open flames (gas, not charcoal, but still very good), and comes with a serving of onion rings for $7, last time I was there.
