Been too busy riding to have fun with this statement so I'll a go at it now:
Ah yes, Man U, the bastion of righteousness -
http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2009/dec/22/manchester-united-fans-top-arrest-league . For those Man U fans unable to read anything without lots of pictures, Man U leads the league in fan arrests.
But at least the players are nice people, right? Um, no:
- Ryan Giggs, the Tiger Woods of Football. Man U great.
- Wayne Rooney, shagging strippers while his wife was pregnant. Awesome.
- Patrice Evra, bedded Carla Howe and handed her $200 for her troubles. Honestly though, that's $200 well spent so I'll give him a mulligan
- Rio Ferdinand, has a 13 year affair while married. Also, tweets a rascist message to Ashley Cole. Stay classy
I watched the biting and just face palmed myself. I know these kinds of guys where their will to compete swamps any common sense (ever watch hockey?). I think, given he's done it before, he got off lightly. Far from an apologist, it really doesn't matter to me if he stays or goes. However, by all accounts, he's a good guy off the field. I'm mean, it's not like he's a sexual deviant, or paid strippers for sex, or Kung Fu kicked a fan.
On another subject, I know LFC fans should hate Sir Alex. I do not. I wish we had a manager other fans can hate for the same reasons. David Moyes is a bit of a surprise but he's done extremely well given the modest amount of money he has to work with. Unfortunately for other teams, Man U probably won't miss a beat.
