i rly didn't want to post this review but TJ calling me on the phone and threatening me and calling me a rich spoiled brat just did it
for any of you that know me i work for all my toys and my parents never gave me money since they where always broke
A couple of months ago i started looking for a paint shop to do the body work on my bike - i had 2 sets of body panels that i wanted to get painted with patterns and a set of wheels. after contacting multiple shops some of which were too booked up, some didn't show too good of quality work, and others just didnt want to work on bike parts for some reason.eventually i contacted Reflection Auto Refinishing - TJ was available and willing to take on the job. we have discussed in details what needed to be done, I have warned him that I am a picky customer when it comes to the quality of work I expect, but i was assured that it was ok and on March 15th I drove to niagara falls with all the parts and dropped them off. At the same time i gave a deposite of about half of total estimated cost of the work.
sometime later i came down again to drop off the decals that were supposed to go on the bike and to pick up the wheels that were ready by then. my first mistake was that i didn't take too close of a look at the wheels while we were at the shop, i just loaded them in the car. when I got home i realized that there was quite a bit of dust in the clear coat and one side the clear was smudged with a finger or something. for a sanity check i showed the rims to a few friends and they all weren't impress with the quality and suggested i should get them re-done.
At that point i contacted TJ to express my concerns, mainly in hopes to avoid the same issues repeated in the painting of the body panels. Not only was there not an attempt to resolve the issue, instead TJ flipped out on me and told me to pick up the rest of my parts saying that he won't do anymore work for me. since i really wanted to have my bike finished i tried to offer to pay more to help cover any added cost that may be associated with better quality, but instead TJ just repeatedly refused. to this point i can't understand what made him react this way and why wouldn't he want to finish what he originally committed to. i never even asked for my money back, all i wanted was for him to finish the job and fix the screwed up parts.
What's worse he originally offered to refund me my deposit for the most part including the cost of labour (at that point he had only sanded down the parts and no other work had been done) and even the cost that was supposed to be charged for the wheels, since i now have to have them re-done (except for the cost of dismounting the tires). TJ was the one who proposed to put that on the receipt and sign for it on the receipt. when it came down to it, and i drove down again to pick up my parts, he backed out and said that i won't be getting any of the previously discussed money back, basically saying that he is still charging me for the screwed up wheels full price and full labour on the rest of the parts. to make things worse he flipped at my buddy who came to the shop with me to pick up the parts and wasn't even involved in our conversations.
i really don't know what the issue here is - if all it took for him to lose it was me pointing at the imperfections of his work, then it's border-line insane. but now i not only got stuck without usable body panels for my bike and had to look all over again for another shop that would do the work and would be available, but now i have to pay AGAIN to have the rims re-done, so this is costing me a lot more than it should've in the first place because not including the time lost, the cost of gas driving there and back, etc.. unfortunately the story didn't even end there - after i mentioned that i will be posting a review of this experience he went off on me calling me names and threatening me.
