"Back brake only, you'll crash if you use your front brake!"

What brand, weight and type of synth did you use?

If it's not a motorcycle-specific oil, this could happen.

Automotive engine oil has friction modifiers in it which will cause your clutch to slip. Motorcycle-specific oils don't have these additives in them.
Ime, you're right. If you see friction modifiers on the bottle, the wet clutch won't be happy. Dino oil or synthetic both work fine for me (as long as no friction modifiers).
Royal Purple for motorcycles.
Went back to Dino and it was fine for a while.

Better to get the slippery stuff annual fight over before the cold weather makes everyone surly.
When the leaves come down you know that its only a matter of days.
Highway 11 was a mess today just south of Gravenhurst. It's not a matter of days, it's here.:confused::confused:

I went to the dump and found winter. Not a spec of snow at my house. Dump is about 30 minutes away and had blowing snow and ice and road closed just beyond due to so many stuck vehicles.

Severn Bridge to gravehurst is a nightmare (as is markdale). 3+ feet in 24 hours. Hwy 11 has had people stuck in their cars for over 14 hours.

After "a while", what happened?
Had to replace it. I think the original setup was done wrong. Underneath the dust cover, one of the adjusting nuts was tight and the other was flapping in the breeze. I bought it from Envy because people had bad things to say about SON at the time.

Edit: Rumour has it that some areas are in for a double dose tonight.

As far as the original topic. Students are probably misunderstanding what’s being said or meant. There are many lessons, especially on the first day where the instructor might tell them to not use the front brake at some time, or keep their hands off of the levers. e.g. right angled turn when pushed, slow speed maneuvers, push steering, etc.

Even if this is true, it should be addressed during emergency braking.
