Just watched on CTV news, OPP has completed their investigation and Ragu has been charged with fraud. Ragu is now officially a scumbag. But of course, Turbodish will poke holes into the OPP's charge making Ragu the victim. Troll away.

So we can all expect an apology from turbodish?

the over 5000 is interesting. Wonder what he claimed? injury or damages to vehicle?

fraud over $5000 carries a maximum 14 years in jail though highly unlikely he'll get close to that. Either way he's not sleeping well facing a criminal conviction and if convicted will definitely lose his job at Scotiabank and will have a hard time finding any decent work. If he claimed injury he's going to need a miracle to discredit the video evidence as he's walking around pain free.

I would suspect there was another incident involved, based on what the charges are supposed to be (attempt fraud, fraud over, and mischief). The OPP site doesn't have an official release though so those charges are just speculation, at this point.

If it's on the wire it's not speculation. The OPP are lazy. If it doesn't net $400+ in fines with 5 minutes worth of poor penmanship, they take their sweet time.

A little heads up; According to Edmunds, there are two categories of auto insurance fraud, “hard” and “soft.” Soft fraud involves padding the bill, like adding old damage to an accident claim. Hard fraud includes things like crashing into something on purpose to collect a check, or falsely claiming an injury. It is estimated that the costs of insurance fraud add up to $400 to the bill of each insured persons’ bill, meaning that part of the cost of insurance payments, on top of keeping it brimmed with gas, is subsidizing frauds.
