The chick on the beach makes me want to immigrate.

Hey mate, welcome to the forum. Canada is a nice place but the GTA is not what Id call Canada, so when you get here dont judge the country on your experience in Toronto... Where are you from in Aus that camping and the outdoors are crap?

That add was actually banned in Canada. Apparently the word "bloody" got the censors panties in a knot.

Welcome!!

Sonofabeach...wow

DownUnder: Darwin mate, don't get me wrong the fishing is awesome, but i'm over the constant 36º days, 98% humidity. Camping, unless you have a permit for aboriginal land is crap again heat.

Over getting chased by buffalo when hunting Boars, that we can't eat because its all diseased.

Mainly looking for a change.

Toronto may not be where we end up its more so until i've converted my licences and don my instructors course, then we'll go where the work is, need to chase that employer who will hopefully sponsor me for PR, the wife is doing the same.

Wife doesn't ride...yet...motorcycles that is :evil2:

I hope you have a good time in Canada. Toronto might be fun for a little while if you want city life. If you like outdoors, head to Vancouver or around in B.C. That is the place to be, its undeniably superior to Toronto in that regard. Just take a visit and you will see.

I lived in Aus for six years (Sydney) as my wife is Aussie but we now reside is this somewhat miserable city of Toronto. Basing in Toronto does have some advantages though as you are in good proximity to a lot of good road trip destinations in Canada and U.S and flying out to the carribbean is pretty quick and cheap should you need some sunshine. Toronto is a great city of food and if you like to eat and try different stuff, I would say its one of the better cities in the world and is somewhat underrated. For me, no Australian city even comes close in that respect.

Oh and that chick in the Ad is Lara Bingle, an absolute train wreck since that Ad.

Just Wikied her:

Whilst driving with a suspended license in Bondi, New South Wales on the 14th May 2012, Bingle was involved in a traffic incident with a female motorcyclist before fleeing the scene without exchanging details with the injured rider. Appearing in Waverley Court on the 18th September 2012, Bingle was fined $3,500 and received a further 12-month driving ban and an 18-month good behaviour bond.[SUP][28][/SUP] She had previously lost her licence because she had committed at least another 6 driving offences in 2012

I no longer like her...but I will search the internet for her nude photos.

She's that crazy in real life, imagine how crazy she might be in bed :evil4:

@toshison: The GTA is going to end up been our starting point, once I'm qualified under transport Canada for my pilots licence and flight instructos rating its a matter of going where the work is.

Biggest thing for us initially will be the excitement of living in another country, a new city etc etc

You will love it here, especially in the summer time...I will be doing rides to Niagara Falls on Sunday's with a few guys...join us if you want!

Mate, once i've got a place to rent that will be happy with the 2 cats, got a job doing anything to get some coin, i'm buying a bike and getting on some rides. Seriously eyeing off a ZF8N....can't believe how cheap they are second hand over there

As I said to the missus, first order of business is to find a job doing anything, then we can look for a job we want to do because at the end of the day some income is better than no income :)

Welcome!

Here it's not the cost of the bike, but the cost to keep it legally on the road (aka. Insurance). G'Luck!

Hey hey all!

Just thought I'd pop in, say hi and start making a new network of mates in the GTA. My fiancée and I are making the big move to Canada early next year on a 2 year working holiday visa, with the intention of working towards permanent residency in Canada. We're both born an bred Aussies but have decided that, along with a new life as a married couple we'd like to get out of Australia and settle in Canada. The intention was going to be in the US but that's a nightmare, and I thought, hey, what about Canada, the people are nicer, the country is a hell of a lot nicer we're close to the US for concerts, NHL, NFL, the camping and outdoors are leaps and bounds better than anything we have here. I'm a pilot by trade and a few mates who have gone to the land of the maple leaf have said the flying and countryside is just incredible.

I'm an avid motorbike fan here and buying a bike is going to be first on my hit list when we get there and with any luck by the time I get there i'll have some internet friends that I can meet up with and go on some rides, see the country and not feel like a total loner in a new country.

So, HI!!! :p

Welcome Inphered. Canada is a lovely country and Toronto is a fantastic city. Living in Toronto is unique as it is one of, if not the most diverse city in the world. Best of luck on you and the wife's venture. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask.

Regards,

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone. We cannot wait to start the journey and experience all that Canada has to offer, where ever it is we end up :)

Just 3 weeks till the wedding then we start planning our move.

Can't be any worse than home now. Got a power bill through, $1100 for 3 months, up 50% based on previous 3 months and our habits haven't changed. Rego for my bike is now 900 for a year too boot.
