Some friends are skilled and lucky enough that they have managed to make their living through music or theatre. They aren't on the easy ride public money dumpster fire program though. They are in the putting in hours, working their ***** off and touring program.Getting a living wage for doing something you enjoy and self assess as world class is silly. I don't believe in arts grants but do believe in teaching art appreciation (Plus music, food etc). If people are taught appreciation, the market will adjust and balance out. Unfortunately the entire situation is subjective as are the experts in the trade.
