Armoured Long Sleeve Shirt Advice for Hot Weather Riding?

Maybe something like this under a shirt of OP's choice?
Fox Racing D3O Baseframe Pro
Plus it will make him look all musclely

That is a base layer and doesn't seem to have any abrasion protection at all

OP what you're looking for doesn't exist. There's armored shirts/hoody out there but as stated an armored textile jacket flows more air and just works better.
Could opt for the stunter look Icon douche vest but your arms/shoulders are still bare.

Just as an additional data point, I wear an Alpinestars Bionic Jacket when dirt-biking:

It is MUCH MUCH warmer than wearing a mesh jacket with armor inserts. I sweat buckets when I wear this thing.

Although the Bionic Jacket does offer more impact protection than a mesh jacket, the problem is that the hard armor doesn't flow air very well, and the CE plastic pads are bound tight by the compression material, so that it's right up against your skin and this acts as a very effective insulator.

At least with a mesh jacket, air flows through the jacket and can get between your skin and the armor, so it dissipates heat more effectively.

i would say most armored 'shirts' are generally much heavier than a mesh jacket.

what about the knox urbane? Knox Urbane Pro Men's Armored Mesh Overshirt

Don't think this is the MK2 but the Urbane Pro mk2 is CE garment level AA certified which means it offers the same abrasion resistance as a jacket.
This would be exactly what OP is looking for, just throw it under/over a henley or whatever specific shirt/style you want.

It may be labelled an "overshirt", but it kinda looks like a mesh jacket already.

To me, there's not much difference between this "mesh jacket":

and the "overshirt":

toe-MAY-toe, toe-MAH-toe... 🤷‍♂️

Maybe the profile is slightly thinner and the fit is tighter, so you can get another shirt over it. But then you start adding layers over this, and you're defeating the purpose of staying cool...

Yup, I won't even wear one dirtbiking. I wear an Alpinestars Bionic chest protector in the dirt under my jersey.

Agreed.

Nothing beats an old-fashioned roost guard coupled with elbow pads for both protection and cooling.

Kinda bummed I sold my roost guard right before I bought the Bionic Jacket.

Yeah, it's meant for dirt biking, where you're not going as fast as on street and if you hit the dirt, it isn't as abrasive as pavement.

Even says so in the category:

Settle down, as stated in my post Maybe something like this. showed it as an example of something else to consider, not that they should purchase it.

Maybe give Motoport a call and see if they can make something custom for you at a price you like?
I've heard of people sending comfortable pants in, Motoport copied them, and the people were happy with the result.

Op,

After several years of riding in various weather and temps, if you are looking for proper crash protection as well as comfort, a mesh jacket is best. You can wear a long sleeve shirt underneath and when parked, bring the jacket with you and if staying near the bike, leave it.

I found a mesh jacket without its liner is designed to allow air through that feels cooler than riding without a jacket at all.

Mine is a lighter grey with full armour and isn’t too heavy.

And I have 2 or 3 closets with gear of all kinds and a mesh jacket is my go to.

+1 for a good mesh riding jacket. I just bought a Scorpion Vortex Air jacket and with the liner out I forget I'm wearing it once moving. The armoured shirts don't breath as well and don't offer near the protection of the jackets with the reinforced "slide" zones.

The Scorpion Vortex looks decent for sure. I wonder if anyone even makes the armoured style jersey outer layer shirt I'm looking for? Perhaps there just isn't a demand for it compared to a vented jacket.

I have pretty much zero faith in that thing. In a crash, it will slide out of the way and leave your skin exposed. Might as well save your $400 (unless you are buying it for style not protection). Sadly, what you want may not be possible. Without strapped cuffs and something to hold the lower edge down, protection will be minimal at best imo.
Valid points for sure. Worth thinking about. thx.

The problem you will be facing is that the material has to be strong enough to keep from shredding if you hit the pavement and slide. If it shreds upon impact, then the armor will be useless as the material was what was holding the armor in the right places against your body.

Material that's strong enough will either be mesh or too thick to flow air through.
Makes sense. But I was looking for an outer layer with kevlar or other abrasion resistant material to keep the armour intact but still be brethble and cool. Perhaps it just doesn't exist and a lighter jacket or base layer is all that is available.

Concur, get a good moisture wicking base layer.

Just today i was stuck in that brutal heat for 15 minutes bumper to bumper on the highway. Base layer under my textile/mesh jacket and my torso/arms felt fine even though i was barely able to get some air through me. As soon as i unzipped the jacket i felt the moisture but i was 2 minutes from peeling out of it, so whatever.

Gotcha. Makes sense. I'll try to also look for base layers since outer layers do not seem to exist in the jersey design I'm looking for.

yeah well ......dress to avoid heatstroke counts too.

I wear armoured mesh in tropical Australia on the hottest most humid days and I dare say the armour is better in some respects than my mesh jacket.

New rider tho in Toronto ...spend a bit

FWIW
Pleased with jacket I got and incredible value. They fit to size and loads of good features. We'll see over time how durable but hellish better than some shirt.
and the pants for warmer weather
The Darth Vader look is cool for sure. And I'm sure Australia is pretty hot and humid. For me it's mostly city riding in Toronto where it also gets pretty hot and steamy at 30-40c with humidity. I've received lots of good suggestions to explore. Thanks for your input.
