Re: GP Bikes not honoring warranty

Yes, we are indeed disappointed with GP Bikes at this point. I even spoke to Jerry about this and he's telling me the same thing, "Sorry, not covered".

A lie would be a little extreme, I just think the OP had very high expectations and was disappointed when his expectations were not met.
It could happen to any of us.

Re: GP Bikes not honoring warranty

They "got" you? Sounds like you're implying GP Bikes conned you in some way. GP Bikes is not the sort of dealer to do this. If you knew a bit about the owner and his wife then you couldn't be farther from the truth. I buy from GP Bikes. I trust them and have had great, great service and support over the years. And I dont spend thousands a year there either.

Well said, any time I go in the store I've had nothing but a pleasant experience.

I sell cars for a living and I see this happening quite often. So I'm going to side with GP bikes because I know what it's like to be on the other side of the fence.
Personally, I think it's your fault for having high expectations to begin with, which led to your disappointment.

Yea, I guess I had high expectations on buying used from GP Bikes. Ah well...

Re: GP Bikes not honoring warranty

Delete the thread, why? I'm just dissapointed, as you would be if you were in my shoes. I'm just letting everyone know what happened and my experience with GP Bikes so far. I believe I have every right.

You should be disappointed that you didn't inspect the bike closely before purchasing. You should be disappointed in yourself for not checking what the warranty covered when you bought the bike. If you did check the warranty then you should be disappointed in yourself for not realising brake bleeder valves and squeaky brakes aren't in the powertrain. You shouldn't be disappointed in GP BIkes here. They've honoured the warranty they gave with the bike. I mean seriously, what is there to be disappointed in besides your own mistakes?

Buddy, nobody here has any clue why you're disappointed. GP Bikes honoured the warranty they gave you, they've done absolutely nothing wrong. You're the one whining for absolutely NO REASON whatsoever.

If it was my shop I'd ban you from the property entirely. You're the worst kind of customer.

Re: GP Bikes not honoring warranty

Who would even care if a bleeder was broken, especially if you didn't see it before buying the bike. When it's time to bleed the brakes just pick one up and change it. Expecting them to fix something like this on a used bike, well you're bound to be disappointed. Unless it's leaking brake fluid. I have to agree that you are simply expecting too much from a used bike. Next time buy new, the experience will be different.

Re: GP Bikes not honoring warranty

Yea, true enough, but I figured they would do the honorable thing and resolve a few minor issues. Next time I'll be more careful, although it's hard to spot everything.

Why the hell would you figure they'd fix your bike for free? You gonna go back when your pads wear out expecting a free brake job? What about when your oil gets dirty?

Jesus H Christ. Stop posting and delete this stupid thread. It's downright libel.

Re: GP Bikes not honoring warranty

On the flipside, GP probably wishes they never sold you the bike. Changing the base gasket involves removing the motor and disassembling the tip end. It's a big job and they're going to eat the costs. Sure they gave you a warranty, but a warranty is like insurance. They offer one but hope you'll never have to make a claim.

Re: GP Bikes not honoring warranty

Ban me from the shop... Really.. you're not serious? I'm just voicing my concerns and some of you here are going mad. I'm not calling GP Bikes screaming at them. I'm just voicing my concerns.. Gezz people!

LoL... give the guy a break...

YOUR CONCERN IS STUPID.

The dealer owes you nothing and has done nothing wrong.

Why give him a break? He's bad mouthing a good shop and potentially driving away future customers with his lies. I don't shop at GP Bikes (they're too far) but this kind of stuff is careless. GTAM has a huge audience and this kind of thread should be deleted by the moderators, IMO.

Re: GP Bikes not honoring warranty

Yea, that's true enough. When I spoke to Jerry, I told him about the base gasket and he was a little surprised. I'm really lucky I spotted it before the warranty ran out. And keep in mind I only put a few hundred KMs on the bike.

I understand your disappointment. I mean, its just depressing to have to go back to a dealer for minor issues within a small timeframe of making a big purchase. If I was good enough to spot all problems with a bike, I wouldn't go to a dealer, you go to a dealer for that extra level of trust.

From a contractual perspective, it appears that GP has done all they are obligated to do. However, from a business perspective, whether its wise to go the extra mile is a judgement call they have to make. As a consumer, its entirely your right to take your money to wherever you want. That being said, GP has always treated me very well.

Re: GP Bikes not honoring warranty

My intention is not to drive away customers from GP Bikes. Rather, I'm just telling others my experience their. What, I don't have the right to voice my concerns?

Be sure that when you have concerns of your own, not to voice them :/

I agree with you to a certain extent, however I don't think we should flame the guy because of it.
He thought there was a problem, he came here to ask for help/voice his opinion and now he knows what's up.
No need to make him feel dumb about it.
