stock tail lights often look terrible. as long as your new kit has some bright LEDs aimed appropriately, it should be visible just fine. I recommend getting HIDs if you don't have 'em. Everybody sees me on the road now lol.

Sigh....Stock tail lights are visible. Like this: "I'm flashing-can you see me?." Flush mounts are like this " ". They look cool...to you...to others they don't look like anything.

As for HIDs, I'm sure everyone can see you, the question is...can those people see anything else...at all afterwards.

I'm looking at HIDs for my bike but with projectors. I'm not going to just jam in dazzling white dwarf sun bulbs into a housing not designed for them.

I really think it depends on the type of flush mount. I bought a kit from clear alternatives and asked friends driving behind me if the lights and signals were visible and they said yes. But this is my second kit. The one that was originally on their when I bought the bike was absolutely awful...the turn signals had 3 garbage LEDs. And I agree with the projectors

Sorry to highjack your thread...I can help out but I dont have wire cutters...I always use regular tools and strip wires with pliers

Key thing here is that you asked them to look out for the flush mounts so they were actively doing so. Stocks are in a position such that they are more visible to other drivers. With all the accidents noted where people drive into your lane, or treat you like you're invisible..the last thing I think riders should be doing is making themselves even more invisible than we already are. Your choice though...cool vs utility/safety. Flushmounts aren't as bad as integrated but they still aren't ideal.

Why are you trying to make yourself less visible?

+1 Everyone I've seen with flush mounted signals is barely visible - the only reason I noticed at all is because I was trying really hard to see if they had any signals on the bike or if they just weren't using them.

Are they with LED lights built in? Or do they have sockets for normal bulbs?

If they're LED, she'll probably need one of those resistors or they'll flash really quickly.

i think some of you are confused! She sais she wanted flushmounts installed, not a fender eliminator. I would love to help, but not free tonight. Also, like someone else had mentioned, they will blink faster but who cares.
I have leds in the back and led flishies in the front, they blink faster, but find its actualyl more noticable!

Oh and will you " it makes you invisible" nazis chillax! geeesh, they look cool! Who cares!
