Anyone riding on Q2s?

From what I've heards ther is a certain degree of personal preference that enters into when you start to talk about the feel and responsiveness like that. Personally I'm not a good enough rider to tell the difference to that level of detail. I just find them grippy, good wearing and well priced.

I'd agree with that! I never came to terms with the BT-016's yet several friends really enjoyed theirs. I have never felt a lack of grip between the Pilot Power 2CT's, the Q2's or BT-016. I just know that in terms of handling, and setup with my suspension & bike that the Michelins worked for me. Everyone will develop their own taste of what feels good how they want their bike to feel.

I've been keeping an open mind and trying different tires every change. I'll probably continue to do so and broaden my experience on different profiles and compounds. The idea of some of the more 'track' oriented tires lures me! 003's or Pilot Pures.

So, to answer the questions posed to me first:

FriendlyFoe: This will be my 5th trackday, but my first on the SV. I ride intermediate at the RDT (where I plan my first SV track day) but I would go novice anywhere else.

Fastar1: I understand that new tires are going to be always better feeling that the old ones going out... what I was trying to say was that the replacement tires I've gone through have all felt better when new than the Dunlops did when new. I was at no point happy on the Dunlops. I was not implying that an old tire could ever be better than any new tire! The first Dunlop experience has simply left me jaded.

Hardwrkr13: Thanks for the input, would you go R10 over Q2 despite the price difference?

Definitely. I hadn't been on a Dunlop I jelled with until these Q2's. Love them. If you're in the Novice range (or just RDT) it isn't worth the extra money to go with R10's or similar over the Q2.
