anyone knows about scooter?

If your sister wants something small, feminine, and affordable, tell her to check out the TNG Milano 50cc. It looks a lot like the Yamaha Vino. I think they go for about $1500 new.

Yeah she likes the Vino but is a little out of the budget, i only see one TNG Milano on kijiji and is for sale $1700................. hmm....

Check the insurance rates BEFORE you buy.
First year rider on a 50cc likely $800+

Maybe look at some of the new electrics that sneak around the classifications.

http://voltcanada.com/

Checked already, it will go under my name $500/yr. Not interested in electric.... slow and needs charging, not convenience under my condo parking lot...

K - at least you've covered it. $500 is decent deal. If you can get out of the 50cc bracket as they are pretty dodgy.
Son had a Jaz and 32 kph was max - best was the 2 stroke Yammy - but a bit smelly - has good road presence and will maintain 80 kph.
Suggest you hit the

2008 Yamaha BWS 50 $1395.00

This is a fun little machine. The 50cc 2 stroke oil injected engine is quick off the line and has no problem keeping ahead of traffic. The top speed of this bike is between 70-75kph. It's less than $6 to fill the tank with enough storage for your helmet or a bag of groceries. I have done all the maintenance on it myself including new front and rear brakes, spark plug and air filter. She's ready to ride for the season. I hate to sell her but there is just not enough room in the stable.
That's what my son had -he had an older model - decent price for a 2008

Aprilia, beware they are mainland Chinese scoots. Look to Kymco (Taiwan) and Studio Cycle in TO has deals on non current models, including 50cc units

What are you talking about? Aprilia isn't Chinese, they're Italian.

Aprillia is supposedly the fourth largest bike manufacturer in the world. They actively race bikes. I would say they know a thing or two about bikes. That aprilllia won't last someone is going to buy that up fast. If I were looking I would be on that one ASAP.

Ditto - that's a great deal

You do NOT want to take on this automatic at the lights.....or most anywhere. Only bike I'd consider over the Burgman but I do like the Burgie for storage for touring and errands. Sport automatics cometh. :D

does anyone know? if aprilia is so big, why so little aprilia dealers in toronto? i practically can't find an aprilia if i wanted to. i know motoretta has it but barely any bikes in the showroom.

Inglis has a few new old stock Vino 50's (4 stroke) for $999 the last time i was in there.

They are operating under a different name. That's a good price for that scooter.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aprilia

Aprilia is an Italian motorcycle company, one of the seven marques owned by Piaggio, the world's fourth largest motorcycle manufacturer.Aprilia started as a scooter manufacturer, but has more recently come to be known for its race-winning sportbikes. It is also known for its flagship 1,000 cc V-twin Superbike, the RSV Mille and latest V4-based RSV4
.

Piaggio is probably more recognizable.

That aprillia scooter looks like the fly 50 4v retail $2495 can

It's 'the Piaggio group', Aprilia's parent company that's the fourth largest manufacturer of two wheelers (motorcycles AND scooters counted here).

The six active brands from the Piaggio Group right now are Aprilia, Derbi, Gilera, Moto Guzzi, Piaggio and Vespa.

still doesn't explain the tiny supply of aprilias in toronto seems like. i'm assuming triumph is a smaller company but i see more triumphs than aprilias.

did anybody ask if the sister is hot?

That wee gutless 50 cc scooter is made in China, do your homework homeboy. The bigger motorcycles are Euro. Also some of the other larger scooter motors are mainland China as well as Taiwanese manufacture. All under the Piaggio group. Off to the Vespa store with you now.

+1.

So what? Lol
Piaggio is Italian too. Doesn't mean bikes like the Fly aren't made in China. They are.

Check out a KYMCO. I've put 25k km on mine in 2 years (it's one of a few bikes in "the baby fleet" ;)) comes with 2 year warranty and huge Canada wide dealer network so you can rest assured you've got a good machine with plenty of support wherever you take it. Www.KYMCO.ca

Based on quality, performance, best bang for your buck, and established reliable dealership network (I.e. Compare it to the companies where parts availability are scarce) it's the only brand of scooter I would buy today.

/rant lol
