Anyone into Photography?

^^^ Nice!!

I'm in...I have an entry level dslr and would love to get pointers from you guys.

Great pics!
I like the red Rim tape... Did you put it on yourself? How easy/difficult was it? Did you have to take the wheels off to put it on?

They are easy to put on. You can buy from ebay and they usually send you an extra strip in case you screw up, or you can pay a bit more and buy the ones that come with the applicator from a bike store.

Just do a search for "reflective rim tape".

Thanks.
I am prospecting a black bike so reflective rim tape would be a good idea in order to be seen properly at night.
I'm sure I will ask more questions once I have the bike and reflective rim tape in hand! :)

A 250cc bike.
Ninja 250 or CBR250.
Right now the Ninja 250 is the front runner and a deal is in place. Will know by Friday for sure...

I've seen this green/white Ninja 250 on 48 towards Sutton, they park it on the grass with a "for sale" sign. No idea of the price or the state of the bike, but from the road it looks ok... you might want to look at it.

Wow Guys,

Didn't think this thread would take off so well. I'll be planning a even soon.

Any idea's where you want to go, Let's keep this topic going.

things to expect from a ride like this are:
1) lots of stops
2) tinkering with cameras
3) lots of time for people to find their shot between stops

maybe little posing

What I expect is:

1. Pick a location
2. Meet there (or in area)
3. Talk about bike & Camera's
4. Take Photo's
5. Make new friends
6. Plan the next event.

I think a theme is a good idea - landscapes, for example, or moving subjects, or candids, or night photography. Each one of those themes could inspire a destination.

Personally, I'd prefer one shooting location to several in a ride. If we're going to learn from each other and try new things, I don't see how a bunch of stops would work. We're goign to be yapping at each other - hey look at this, how'd you get that shot, what were your settings, how do you like that lens, and that yapping takes time.

I think that if we wanted to, we could then post the pics collectively to a gallery, so we can all compare / contrast, and show off our crap.

^^^ I see your point and agree with both, is the distillery district an option or maybe a bit over kill?

agreed. There are certain things i would like to learn more than others ( night shots, movement ) . That way If u plan a theme night/day people an show up if they want to learn that specific element - if not then it doesn't waste their ride time. Also let's the ones who know how to do it, show others.

The Distillery District can be a problem, because the city wants permits to shoot there.

Wobblycat has the bike portrait thing pretty much nailed.

I am open to any area (within reason)

But would love to get some night shots and maybe some drive by's

Feel free to post some locations and see who likes what..

Thought that I'd do a little thread necromancy for this one. Shot in Angle Lake Park, on the trip to Seattle that I just returned from. In the fog. In overcast. At the tail end of the eclipse. Very happy with it and I'm never likely to find light like this again, as long as I live.
