I placed my order last night, so now the “just wait til it gets here” begins…..
Thanks for the helpful feedback and leads on finding someone to work with.
I've mentioned that I have one of these. They are awesome vehicles. When I need to tow something I borrow a friend's big truck.
I've seen 3.3 l/100km in stop-and-go traffic for a 25km trip many times. Average 5.7 l/100km in the summer and 7 l/100km in the winter for combined city/hwy. Verified. They are easily customizable. For example: the base XL (which I have) does not come with cruise control. You can buy the OEM wheel switches for $110 bucks and flip a bit in Forscan and voila! factory cruise control. Don't like the steering wheel? A Ford Focus RS wheel fits. Popular upgrade. A bunch of other hacks are out there - even adding adaptive CC. FWD does very well in the winter with snows. Easy to load a bike by yourself because of the low bed height. Fits in an underground with a bike in the bed. No way my last truck could do this.
it does but still doesn't stand up to repeated use due to the clutch style diff. if you Google there's more than a few first hand reviews (reputable car media) where it overheated on light trails.
edit: need to add my 2 cents, I have had a gen2 Ridgeline, ecoboost f150 and a gen 1 raptor. the Ridgeline cost the most and was no better vehicle except slightly better ride quality than the raptor. Mpg between ridge and f150 was the same but way less power and torque.
My 1st Jeep had a clutch style differential, a version of posi track . I did have to put a rear end in that vehicle , I’m not sure I cooked it trail riding or lack of maintenance. I never thought about it in 30yrs till you brought back the memories. About every decade I’ll buy a jeep , because I’m that stupid .

Watching Ram drivers is enough for me to have no desire to purchase one. It's shocking how bad most are.
As a representative example, here is a Ram driven by someone with four concurrent suspensions who was drunk at dinner time. I'm not even sure why they bother with charges as obviously he isn't learning.

I picked up a Chevy 2500HD a few months ago and it came down to the Ram and the Chevy. The stereotypical Ram driver and public perception definitely came into play for the final decision.
As I read the end of the article it doesn’t actually state the vehicle during the infraction….just that they have more drivers with citation for a DUI.
But I could be reading it wrong.
Lot of ********* RAM drivers in my experience. But all the Polaks I know want one because that means ‘you made it bro’.

Tundra is losing its lustre as it hasn’t kept up with the others and my buddys had a catastrophic failure of the motor at 400-500k. Ended up trashing the car as a new motor wasn’t worth it.
He’s got an F150 twin turbo now and said it’s 10x better than the tundra.

His tundra motor blew up at over 400K and he was distressed about that and went ecoboom? How old was the tundra? Almost any current vehicle feels 10x better than vehicles a decade old.
Every person I know who has a Tundra went to the dealer to buy a Tacoma, realized how small they were and how poor the mpg was, and left in a Tundra. A Tacoma is like a Jeep Wrangler - you have to want to drive one.
Ram is a low income persons' truck. Really any CDJR is. Super high MSRP and low selling price makes is easy for any 550 to get a loan on it. As a guy who has owned two of them and spent a lot of time on the forums, trust me.
Every non-truck person wants a Ford F150. They don't know if or why its better, they just want an F150.

CJ7 with a 304 V8 and quadratrac. The chain drive gizmo to the transfer case was $3000 , in the 80s, twice . The J10 had a diff issue , the YJ would throw out your shoulder from 2nd to 3rd . The last one was a 2017 , bought new , kept it 16 months . What crap.

The only trouble I had was the 3speed in the CJ5. The little v6 was torque, fine with skinny oe tires, they'd just spin. If you added bigger tires that hooked up send first spin... something would give
First were the driveshaft yokes. Easy fix, use a tougher driveshsft. Sadly the trannys weren't tough either, stepped out if the drive shift wouldn't.
I was able to test drive the Maverick Lariat with the eco boost. Drives more like an suv than a truck, but that’s not a bad thing. Inside was roomier than it looks like it should be and the seats very comfortable. It was a very easy driving vehicle.
Surprisingly, lots of power on tap and the 8 speed auto was brilliantly smooth!
Bed was a lot deeper than I thought it was going to be too.
I had it out for about 30-45 minutes and was thoroughly impressed. I think the only thing that will take time to get used to is the turn-knob for the gear selector. I’m not used to a knob and the location isn’t intuitive.
my Bronco has the turny gear selector knob thing , its been 6 months and I'm not used to it. But , if you shut the vehicle off while its in gear the gear selector will auto rotate into park and set the parking brake, as will the Maverick
