Anyone here have a Grom?

I'm considering picking up a Grom as a second bike, primarily to learn how to stunt, but also to ride around the city. For those who have one, how much do you actually ride it? Used ones never seem to have more than a few thousand KMs. It seems like people pick them up, ride a few times and get bored, and then sell a year or two later.

I'm kinda worried it'll just sit in my garage and I'll never pick it for a ride over main bike.

i have a very modded one.

if you have a bigger primary bike then yeah, it's gonna sit on the shelf so to speak. however, if you want to use it to learn to stunt then it's a great choice. big local following in the stunt scene and lots of mods to trick it out.

I've had one. It was fun when riding with other groms but thats realistically the only time I would ride it. Any other rides I would take the bigger bike.

If you ever get into track, you can get more use out of the grom and practice at a go-kart track ( at a school or when they have open lapping). I know in Japan, they even have full fairings for these bikes when they take them out on the track.

Woah, learn something new everyday... That little bike does indeed have endless aftermarket support

And not the energy drink kind, either...

NAWZZZ!
I'd like an 8 shot of nitrous please. Sir, we start at 50 and go up to 1000. Ok, I'll take an 8 for my racing grom that I have put so much money into, I could have had almost any other production bike for less money. Facepalm.

I told everyone Grom’s were cool. But you only laugh at me. ?
Do they start with the 8 hp motor or do they start from the CBR motor for an easy 50% power bump? I haven't looked to see how much different they are.

Well, hopefully whoever has that much money to do that to a Grom has a garage-full of other interesting toys, and this is just one of their lesser diversions.

Srsly though, not exactly a big market for manufacturing 12" magnesium forged wheels. Price point must be through the roof...

The new riding school where I just started teaching at has a Grom in the fleet.

It's my favorite parking lot bike.

Not the best for when we go out in traffic though. Can't see over cars to keep track of the students.

You get a good view of truck bumpers though. (Srsly, how can that even be remotely safe?!?"

Grom is by far the favourite for the students. Mostly the women snap them up first and the guys sneer and avoid them on day 1 like the plague. By midway of day 2 the women are complaining that the guys won’t swap back for the exam lol

grom feels like an offshoot of the supermoto
lightweight, low power hoon machine

You should see the reaction of people on the highway when I roll by on the slammed bike with my helmet at window level. Lol
