Anyone here a cyclist?

btw
neopro has their black friday sale... if youre looking for cheap bibs or cycling shorts or jerseys

exchange rate hurts a bit but they have warehouses in canada

What the hell? I've never broken one in my life. Is yours particularly fragile or are you a gorilla?
I've no idea, and no I'm probably 155lbs soaking wet 😌
Bike is a 2014 Trek Stache 7
I do ride it almost year round including winter, so I wonder if corrosion might've accelerated it's demise?

Bringing it back to the person who repaired it for me last month to take a look

broken freehub again
at least I didn't make it too far from home
last time it broke the bike was still rideable as a fixy 😣
By breaking you mean the hub just spins without driving the wheel? The pawls don’t click anymore when you peddle backwards?

The first time it broke, the bike could not coast (fixy)
Now there is no engagement when pedalling, just clicking when trying to pedal (sounds like something is rounded off)
The pawls still click when pedalling backwards

It was my winter bike that failed similar to that, but pawls wouldn’t catch and I was 6km from home. I was crossing the road too when that happened. I had to get off and run with it. I started walking then I bounced the rear and slammed it a few times, pawls caught and I peddled without coasting all the way home. Luckily most of the way was uphill. I took the hub off and replaced it. Had never done that before but YouTube was my guide.

First pedal ride of 2025. Wind almost blew me backwards

Studs unnecessary still but, happy to get out.

anyone here have or can suggest an e-bike? thinking of possibly getting a couple for hubby and myself...nothing extreme, just enough juice so we can go on longer rides (the most we've done is 20km)...don't want to break the bank either so hoping to stay under $1,000 each...thanks!

I was going to suggest costco based solely on their return policy to cover any issues that might crop up but ATM they are only listing one model at 2k.
The best advise that i can give would be to visit the local well established cycling shops and talk to the folks as after sale support will go a long way in keeping the user experience positive with ebikes.
Finding anyone that is qualified and willing to do repairs or troubleshooting a generic brand ebike that was bought online is a feat from what i have been hearing from other cyclists hence the local dealer recommendation.

There’s one with 16” tyres for $700 at Costco now.
