Anyone here a cyclist?

I am enjoying the "landscape" of the different cities. It's a contrast from what I see in the movies or news.
I live a very sheltered life!
13 years ago I decided to at least travel to one interesting country/place each year. Sometimes its possible to do two trips in a year. And where possible, we avoid taking planes to go from one destination to another and take overland transport to get a better appreciation of the changes in landscape and culture. I even sat in a coach seat for 74 hours when taking the train to Vancouver many years ago. Never again, but it was an amazing experience:)

Sometimes the trips are only for 10 days, but it's amazing what that can do to enrich your perspective.

But back on the thread topic, for some reason, I'm no longer a fan of riding my bicycle on the street, so it lives on the trainer. And after only an hour, I'm done!

#shanekingsley I avoid the actual streets as much as possible on the road bikes these days, instead I like to hit the paved trails and rail paths (or MTB on single track). If you have access to any where you are it is way better from a stress perspective than battling traffic but don't expect to be riding super fast (that is the downside), usually ~20 kph average pace (which is also the posted limit AFAIK)...

Toronto has a pretty good network, I am close to the Humber and just heading out now to do just this...

Long ago I lived near the top of the Humber trail so I would ride down to the lake often. Nice ride. Then GF had an apartment near the Rogers office so I would spend much of my time along the waterfront trail. Nice flat cruising and quite enjoyable. Where I am now, I can get to a gravel rail trail easily but it is down a bunch. That makes the end of the ride home a climb of >100m in ~2km. Good for the fit people. Painful for me.

The trails i can do with my family... or super duper early in the morning when there's no one.

Otherwise i ride the road... and its also once again super early when theres barely anyone there.

So happy it’s getting nice enough ( during the hours I have ) to get outside and ride . I’m really not enjoying the trainer anymore , not that enjoyed it before .

For me its a necessary evil. But it also keeps me consistent in my workouts as there's no excuse with the trainer lol

Jumped on my mountain bike today after a long hiatus, and kept checking my mirrors, arrgg..

I like my Ultimate. Once you've used slide lock you can never go back.

What colour was the one you just replaced?

No collection is complete without one.... this one was originally blue, I painted it when I converted it over to a fixie. posted it up here before, it is an old build. It is interesting how the colour is a bit of a moving target year to year.
