Yeah, it's an 05. "The ugly" one ... which I still don't understand what's so ugly about it.

it has all the fenders and plastic whistles....lol :)

I recently installed HID 8000K light on it too.

Don't get me wrong, the +08's are much better, agressive looking, but this is a good bike to me ...
 
Why not look @ the SV650? I would say it's a pretty good bike to start on--but the height might be an issue i guess.
 
You're welcome to borrow our 250, but it's an "ugly" one. It's a red '04. You know, I've gotten more compliments on this bike then I did on the red and white F4i I used to own. I'm in High Park, will be home after work hours, but the hubby is home.

I've got a 650R in rough shape cosmetically but rides fine if you're interested. Aftermarket handlebars though.

Ohhhh just googled 2009 650r, looks sexy to me! I think she wants a red or silver one, but I'm sure she'll like this one.

Good that the cometic isn't good in case she drops it on the grass ;)

Yeah sorry, my 650 is in Guelph area. I'll probably be going for a ride later though so if you want me to swing by some area not too deep into the GTA (maybe could meet in Mississauga or something) let me know. My cell decided to kill itself last week so email is pretty much the best way to get hold of me right now. I won't be home until 5:30ish most likely. Just shoot me a PM if you're still interested since those go to my email.

WOOT! A huge thanks goes out to the 08 Ninja 250 donor (will not name names cause we communicated by PM only). Nice to see it was equipped with frame sliders just in case!! :D

My GF loved it. Way way more then the CBR 125. She could touch the ground on her tippy toes so that was good enough for stock height. I'd probably drop it 1" front and 2" rear for her if she gets one. We did some basic lessons on the soccer field by my house and once she was comfortable enough we did some aggressive laps around the public school (real cool setup, some steep downhill and uphill concrete parts, banked corners, lol). Once she was done I made her drive down the street to my house. That was her first time ever being on a public road on a motorcycle :D.

She did so amazing. Didn't drop it once!!!

I got to ride it on the highway to and from the donor's house. I have the say, the Ninja 250 is a way more capable motorcycle then the CBR 125. It instills so much more cornering confidence (took it on Twyn Rivers there and back) and rips up to highway speed no problem. The wind/other vehicles don't affect it nearly as much, etc.

She had a smile on her face for hours after she got off. Thanks so much. It was a GREAT night!!! :D

Jamie you going to buy her a new or used one? I am in the same ordeal. She has a 600rr I built for her but it will probably be too much for her. I think once I get the new fairing on the 600rr I should be able to /selltrade it for the 250R. We will have to get the girls out for a ride.

Yeah, I doubt I'm buying her it, but was looking at a 2008 Ninja 250 with bodywork damage but super low KM's that sold for $2850 on Kijiji yesturday, so ideally, if I could find another smokin deal like that then I'll jump on it for her and she can pay me back. I would for sure think used unless she goes for the 650R, then maybe new.

How much could you drop the height of the 600rr? Or is it more of a power/width/weight thing?

My GF said the 250 felt way lighter and more balanced then the CBR 125 :)
