Anyone get stopped in Oakville today at the spot check for exhausts ?

I remember having a similar conversation with a friend who was trying to justify spending mega $$$ on a new racing bicycle to save a few ounces.
I suggested just not having the extra bagel at breakfast...
I was excited to take the stupid child trailer adapter off my bike. Having a nice light bicycle and then attaching a pound to the rear axle made me sad. The cheapest and biggest gains on a bicycle are definitely in the rider for the vast majority of people.

All this yak about loud exhaust!
What about the 8 million watt dual subwoofers cranked to 11 in the rice buggies?
There's one on the court I live on. He rolls by and my house shakes, I wait for pictures to fall off the shaking walls, and the ******* noise makes whatever is inside my skull vibrate. I'm 99% sure it's responsible for broken seals in thermal windows.
I'd take a loud exhaust all day long over the pounding racket these ricer dudes make.

Picked up in the amplified music section of most by-laws. If you really piss off the cop, I have heard of getting bad tickets for it (eg careless as you can't hear emergency vehicles with your music so loud). Less boomy cars now than 20 years ago so it doesn't get as much public attention. I don't think the by-law ticket price is high enough for anyone to care if they get it. Often a lot of overlap between boom cars and shite mods though so they could fill a book with value added tickets.

Hmm, ok. Perspective of the picture and the pipe size makes it look like something off a car though.

But in the grand scheme of a road driven motorcycle, a 4 pound weight loss is going to accomplish what, exactly?

On a track where the performance gains and advantages come in small slivers, I get it I guess, sure, but then we’re off topic so far as street operated motorcycles and their noise levels.

Maybe I am going mad BUT ...

Before) The bike wanted to lean more to the right side where the exhaust was and I had to make an effort to put more force on my left footpeg.

After) The bike leans less to the right and I can just ride without any hands on the bar now with a throttle chock for hours

But this exhaust is way too loud, I'm hitting 90+ dB easy

I blame EURO5

I have a Sundown SA-8 V2 inside my CX5, it's the party CUV...

Sorry

Sorry

I've never seen a sub setup so ghetto that they put a tuned port entirely outside the box.

I remember many years back. The craze of having the stereo in your car, being worth more than the car it was contained in..
You would get that sweet, sweet rust rattle mixing in with the bass.

My old beamer was like that. Crapbox 2001 328 with a massive dual sub setup in the trunk. It had no space for anything other than noise and it made the whole car rattle from the outside. Couldn't hear anything inside so it was all good lol

I remember standing around talking with a bunch of guys after a club hare scrambles. One fellow was talking about changing pipes & silencers, and swapping out this and that to save weight so he could get, "really dialed in."

My buddy Lloyd, already a vet but fast as hell piped up, "You know you could skip the second burger, and the second and third beer and maybe go for a walk once in a while and you'll be able to go faster without spending all that money."

Do modern sportbikes actually gain any power with a a race exaust . Not stirring up things . But I figure by now manufactrers squeese all the hp they can out of their motors .

Manufacturers are constrained by noise and emissions requirements that have no flexibility. Aftermarket exhaust often ignores those requirements. Apparently H2 with exhaust and reflash can add 50 hp. Obviously most bikes won't gain that much, but relative numbers should be similar.

Bitchin ride. Did you have to move the baby seat?

No, I built the sealed enclosure so it hides in the left corner but the subwoofer sticks out a bit to the right.

I have a revision 2 where the subwoofer sits at the very top but the price of wood lately lol

My nephews used to race MX and I remember the BIL saying how people were spending big bucks for carbon bits and then completely filling the tank for a race that only needed maybe half that.

I still giggle watching world class motorsports engineer the fuel loads and miss the course length by about 150ft.....
