Anyone else out still riding on the nice days?

I wonder if there's a medical term for the fear of salt.

Edit - halophobia

Nice...new rear shock ehh. I think a mod like that is a "must" on the bike ;)
No kidding, now I have to lower the forks by a few MM to compensate and it should be good to go.

Used to ride my 650R in the winter and didn't have a problem with rust and it has a steel frame. I did get a couple of tiny rust spots on the bike within the first summer but they were there before I exposed it to salt and at least one piece (bracket that holds the gauges) came pre-rusted direct from Kawi when I ordered a replacement.

ACF-50 is your friend.

I've ridden every winter except the last two.
Never had a salt/rust issue on a bike, but then again I've never owned a garage queen.
I'm still riding now and the weather has been pretty nice out.

We were down at the RCM on Bloor W yesterday and saw a grey R1200GS go by. Wasn't too cold out and there's no wind down there so if I was downtown I'd be tempted as well.

On Saturday, I was going North on 400 (heading to "mountain" to ski) and saw someone on red bike, full gear going South... Couldn't make out the model, but it sure was nice to see.
Kudos to all of you still riding.

Was kind of eyeballing the weekend as a possibility, but with snow forecasted tomorrow, even though it's just a dusting they're calling for....given the "OMG EVERYONE WILL DIE IF WE DON'T SALT THE ROADS" reaction even a dusting seems to get anymore, I suspect despite the rain washing a good part of it away yesterday...we will be back at square one again.

My daughter and I will be out on my trialers on sunday.Snow and mud....mmmmm!

Grrr...was going to go out for a ride...and found my battery dead. FLAT dead. As in...suspected shorted cell, battery is pooched dead, the "not even a fast charge hit would bring it back to life" kind of dead.

Had the tender on my wife's bike instead.

I knew the battery was going to need to be replaced in the spring anyways, but it had been hanging on through the fall. Guess it's official, I'm going battery shopping soon.

Never mind... seniors moment.

Unbelievable -- I got out for a two hour, 137km ride over to Rattlesnake Point, up to the Forks, and back home.
Didn't use or need heated gloves or gear, and was comfortable and had a leisurely cruise -- on Jan 31!
Rinsed the bike off at a pay and spray, topped her up with shell premium and got'r into the garage before the rain.

If I wasn't getting on a plane tomorrow morning and my gear all packed I'd have been out there....sunny and warm !!!! Geez March comes early.

I'm a bit surprised I didn't see a single other motorcycle.... one guy on a can-am trike, so almost... but not a single bike on the route I took.
