Anybody else notice this at the gas stations???

I'm not saying it's significant but someone who's standard practice is to fill up from half is either fueling too often (Your extra idle and pulling in and out of gas stations) or has their eyes on the wrong prize. Unless there is something to this water thing [Citation needed.]

Another good reason to keep your tank topped up is because while chances are you will be able to fill up tomorrow, that might not always be the case.

Do you remember the great power outage of 2003? Some areas lost power for 2 days or more, and with no power most stations weren't operating, so if you were on a 1/4 tank or less you wouldn't be going far.

Saying that, I rarely ever get around to filling up at 1/2 a tank... I keep procrastinating until I have to fill up as I've got other things to do.

I always keep some gas canisters filled up because of 2003. I will buy two 20Litre canisters and start keeping a practice of having them filled up.

Da fuq? No way. I'll be speaking to a brick wall when explaining things to these kids

One time I overheard a girl complaining to her friend about how hard al/geo was, then following it up by saying that lunch was her favourite "class".

Btw calculus was also removed as a mandatory class.

Good luck.

I predict that in 50 years there will be a great shortage of people who understand F=m*a or know which way to turn a wrench.

I agree for the situation in here.. I couldn't believe a school like YorkU @ 60,000 students not having an Engineering department few years ago.

This is where the immigration comes in. A whole Eastern Europe and Mid East are engineers for generations.

Anyone who understands F=m*a AND knows which way to turn a wrench could be an unstoppable industrial juggernaut.

In ten years, if you know how to hold AND swing a hammer = instant millionaire.

The movie Idiocracy isn't just entertainment, it's prophecy.

Love the hospital visit scene.

If anyone watches any part of Idiocracy, watch the opening sequence.

I'm going the other way, figuring that the lack of such knowledge will ultimately result in the fall of civilization. I have a few swords, have studied up on bow making, and am making armour. Once the bullets run out I should be an unstoppable juggernaut.

And I understand moments of inertia, let alone F=ma

So you say, but using the gas I siphon out of Blue_Kawi's tank on Friday nights I will use my mighty flamethrower and BBQ you in your armour!

I call that Contingency Plan Charlie Foxtrot.

In such an event, come find the guy who has dug moats, erected walls and is building trebuchets and catapults. The password is "hasenpfeffer".

Good luck.

So true. I see society being divided into people who are well rounded & those who are only good at one thing & one thing only. I don't know if that's a good or bad thing, but I gotta say having a conversation with them might be pretty bland.

Wow, just wow!
I did alot of math in high school. We always used to ask our teacher how will we benefit from this in life? Even if I haven't directly benefit from it, I must say I'm glad I did it. To me it has taught me to solve life's problems & able to think logically.

I figure that you'll have used that gas to light the BBQ long before it ever gets to my armour.

My time in big steel boxes has not been pleasant I think due to the mass and density of steel holding cold. It's like six sides of concrete floor. Maybe enough insulation could vary your mileage? Don't have my slide rule handy.

They are using them all over the place for eco friendly homes now. You can go online and find plans, ideas etc.

Oh please! At least my thread does not have anything to do with
