If your gonna go for a new tenor as opposed to vintage I'd highly suggest the yamaha jazz series - I have an 82z unlaquered and its fantastic
One funny thing is that on a guitar like this, playing low to mid gain, the tone knobs are actually useful. On the neck pickup rolling off the tone knob actually gives it a nice phat sound. On my Jackson's I'm either playing high gain or completely clean and I don't think I've EVER found a use for the tone knob. It's cranked all the way up at all times and if I lower it, it simply sounds worse. If someone took off the tone knob all together off all my guitars I wouldn't care.i loved playing a friends fathers casino. such cool tone out of a very affordable guitar. i'd love to have one, or any other es-335-like guitar.
I have a complete set of vintage Tama Superstar drums from the 1980s in Super-Mahogany. Been playing drums since 1977, used to play in a metal band. I stopped playing for 15 years in 1991. Cashed in on the eBay thing when it first started and there was a pile of second hand stuff selling there and got the Supes. Got motivated and built a soundproof jam room in my house years ago, lol. I even have a mixing board and mics for recording just for fun. I only play as a hobby these days, about once a week or two.
I've been "playing at" guitar for ~40 years.Just curious if anyone else on here is a player.
I'm a sax player, mainly jazz and blues, some r&b.
