Just curious if anyone else on here is a player.

I'm a sax player, mainly jazz and blues, some r&b.

Anyone else?

Been playing guitar for about 10 years, mainly metal ie: protest the hero, august burns red etc.

Self taught myself drums, again mainly metal or just adding drums to songs that dont have them

Bought a keyboard about a year ago and taught myself piano. Been trying to learn some beethoven and some piano classics (my immortal, fur elis etc)

Ive always wanted to pick up a wind instrument but theyre out of my price range.

I've played in a few bands along the way.

Typical bar band classic rock but also heavily into blues / R & B.

I used to play guitar a lot but some of my other hobbies kinda took over and my gear is now mostly collecting dust (kinda a shame as I have some nice stuff....two US Jacksons, a Mark IV, etc.).

Mainly played metal as well. Stuff like At the Gates, (old) In Flames, Iced Earth, Iron Maiden, Megadeth, etc.

I still pick up the guitar once in a blue moon but pretty rare these days.

EDIT: I used to post on ESP forums a lot before I switched to GTAM ;)

In a previous life I was a sound/light tech. I can (could) make musicians sound/look good, but my limited musical ability was a definite disadvantage.

wanna-be drummer here. played for years, but stopped because condos don't like acoustic drums.

Took guitar lessons many years ago but it didn't stick and I got frustrated and stopped :( regret it but can't seem to get started again so guitar and amp sit there wasting away...

waiting for midlife crisi to come by when I'll buy a vette and start a rock band with some buddies!

eDrums, pad the kick.

Always considered selling my drumsets for one of these. Easier to record.

Don't get frustrated, Trust me, things take time -- hell 10 years later i'm still learning new things.

I'm pretty sure there are dozens of dermis floutists on board.

Check out some of the jazz guys! All you gotta do is pick up a real book and theres a ton of "easy to learn" standards in there :)

I was waiting for this one lol

Just thinking about how I am going to answer this question makes me feel old.

I've been playing guitar for around 25 years now, but was only really active for the first 10 years when I was in a few bands. Since then I mostly just pick up the guitar or the bass on a Saturday night, plug into Guitar Rig, and muck about for a couple hours while drinking. I also used to play sax and clarinet, and could figure out a few things on a piano, but those days are long gone and forgotten.

Now-a-days when I play, it is usually some sort of blues or blues rock -- like Zeppelin, Hendrix, SRV, ZZTop, etc..

If we weren't all so far apart, we should have a GTAM jam -- non-serious and booze involved type thing, but I doubt it work out as every one seems spread apart (especially Lightcycle), and I no longer have suitable gear to jam with -- as I sold my Marshall stack a few years back -- these days most of my playing runs through my computer and headphones.

Guitar. Love me some Blackmore and Knopfler licks. Although, since I bought a Classical guitar last year, the Strat is collecting dust!

I play the sax; mainly standards and smooth jazz... I own a Selmer Soprano, Selmer Alto, and a Jupiter Tenor. Will up grade the tenor soon. Learning to play the clarinet, as well.

Violin. Mostly.
Celtic/Celtic rock. Specialize in old Scottish trad.
Banjo, guitar, mandolin,vocals, etc.
Play a lot in Toronto with several bands...the typical pub venue circuit.

Electric guitar for 20 years. Played in some crappy post-grunge bands in college/university, then random projects including some spoken word stuff that I'd back with bluesy riffs/leads. These days I only play at home to entertain the kid.

Also built a bunch of guitars from scratch about 10 years ago. My main axe is my own creation.

I'm not a musician here or anywhere else. Can play a mean radio tho. Sorry.

And also to tweak the sound of the kit and effects after you've MIDIfied everything. And then a bit of Quantize so you sound as precise as Neil Peart.
Absolutely. Hook the thing up to Battery MIDI and youre set if you download some nice sample drumpacks
