Any scotch lovers out there?

I feel fortunate to have experience scotch enjoyed properly. I only mix it with the surroundings.

My best memories are from Christo's in NYC and Hys in Calgary. Scotch just delivers its best when enjoyed in a dimly lit steakhouse, air thick with the aroma and smoke from charring meat, sizzling garlic and Cuban tobacco.

Buddy went to the Wayne Gretzky winery for their scotch tasting (?) and I'm def looking forward to the reviews. Another buddy did it a few years ago and said it was 100% worth it.

Wow! This is very good.
That was one of my dads favourites and he tried A LOT. I always found it burned too much but when it wasn’t burning the taste is great. Will miss drinking it with the old bugger.

Not to derail the thread as it’s a good one. I’ve been enjoying some Kentucky bourbon and Irish Whiskey lately.

Notable mentions to Elijah Craig for a smooth and easy finish. Just the regular, the barrel proof is a nice treat but, their regular bottle is always stocked at home now.

Roe & Co has been a nice and pleasant surprise.

Jameson Stout is preferred over their regular now.

Lastly, Basil Hayden always encourages a second pour.

I always look forward to Father’s Day and my birthday for some nice Scotch from any of the Glens or most bottles that are under a $100. Don’t need to get too crazy! Lol

Nice selection. I'm a big fan of the Elijah Craig...one of my favourites.

This Pike Creek is pretty good. I’m not usually a fan of Rum finishings but this one is quite good as a lower priced option as is the Copper Bold from Forty Creek.
Thinning out the bottles on the shelves for weight reasons means I had an excuse to hide the 18yr scotch’s in the cupboard below so they don’t get mixed with coke by uneducated party goers :)

Almost useless trivia , Hennessy cognac is appropriate for St Paddy’s day . In the late 1700 Hennessy needed out of Ireland and built a distillery in France .

There are also a dozen 200 yr old Chateau producing excellent French wines , Irish owned .
Lot of serious old money bailed out of Ireland when they found themselves at odds with the new regimes .

We benefit by having drinking options .
