Any GTAM'ers own an electric vehicle?

Still follow this thread out of interest in electric vehicles. No compelling reason to switch what we have to take on the benefits of an EV.

I do like the thought of plugging in at home and the cost of electricity vs the fluctuation of prices at the pump.

We have a Forester that tows our tent trailer and gear (Kayaks/bikes) and sits most of the time with myself and wife working from home.

Have a company vehicle that gets used for both work and errands to save on personal fuel cost. There is a payroll deduction for personal use but everything else is on a fleet charge card.

Just going to keep following the journey of others here as I find it more informative than car reviews on YouTube.

I opened the hood on mine for the first time in months. Refilled the washer fluid.
Still have not refilled mine, 3 years into ownership.

Guess my mechanic sneaks it in during oil changes.

Saw the newer Nissan Leaf in the wild…thought it was also a turd like the Gen1 but 363km range with the bigger battery pack…not bad.

The market does have better selection/options now compared to when this thread started.

More EV and Hybrid. There will definitely be some turds along the way. Glad I’m not an early adopter.

I do hope the respective governments get their acts together to plan and build for this evolving transportation. Affordable energy such as electric generation and access will be just as important as having the units to buy.

Canada also has some important natural resources if the government would give the industries approval to mine for it. All this creates good paying trades careers because we can’t have everyone work for the government.

Cybertruck? I think I saw one at the mall.

That's like a non-article. Lots up "up to" hp and battery numbers. One random price thrown out with no details (presumably you supply vehicle and that is money for basic options). The H1 chassis was never that happy on the road or at speed but it was slow enough it could barely get out of its own way. Hopefully they did a lot of suspension work and didn't just cut 0-60 from 15 seconds to 3.5 seconds.

All true. But I'd take that over a Cyberfucked any day of the week.

There’s a hybrid…

Wonder how good that thing is.
i've heard excellent things about this truck. although IIRC AWD is only available on the 2.0 turbo version? I could be wrong.

track buddy has the 2.0 version and he pulls a big enclosed trailer to all the track days. bed can carry a bike with the tailgate down.

if you can get over the cheapo interior then it's worth a look.

this and the ridgeline are shortlisted for me.

Mavericks have been very popular and hard to find since they debuted unless things have changed recently.

Yes, as @GreyGhost mentioned I’m hoping for a straight swap as I’d have a hard time justifying MORE money into a car at this stage.

If I can make it happen great. If not, the GTI stays and wife keeps stacking kms on the Odyssey.

I figure anything low to mid 30s would have come in on trade for what the GTI is worth, and could be swapped. Obviously dealers may feel differently.

So on the eve of the Cybertruck's official presentation ...

An event has occurred which involves Elon Musk, which involves advertisers who have recently pulled their ads from, and (in many cases) their participation in Xwitter, being told to do something that I cannot describe here because it would be a non-family-friendly violation of forum rules. Mere surfing of Xwitter now will reveal the non-family-friendly thing that Elon Musk told those companies to do.

I can imagine memos going out very shortly to all personnel in those advertising departments, to never reinstate advertising in or participation in Xwitter as long as current ownership/management remains ...

I have an EV. It isn't a Tesla. I'm good with that.

What a moron.

Called out Bob Iger by name.

Then whines like a tiny child. ““What this advertising boycott is going to do is it’s going to kill the company,” he said. “And the whole world will know that those advertisers killed the company. It will be documented in great detail.”. Advertisers killed the private company? Ummm, no. Your job as a company owner is to monetize the product you have. If you actively work to destroy monetization, YOU have killed the company.

Also, poor rich kid. My heart bleeds for the struggles in his life (/s) "You know, I think to some degree, I was born this way, but then it was amplified by a difficult childhood, frankly,”"
