Too rich for my blood. Maybe if I didn’t have a mortgage….or a $500/month mortgage.

damn. that's disappointing. We went and saw the Ford Mach E but the back seat room was tiny. The camry had way more room in the back.

toyota should have a ton of new hybrids in the works. It was... Leaning more towards a Sienna Hybrid or rx450H because the highlander only offers 4 cylinder hybrids now
For being the first out of the gate in high-volume hybrid rollout, they have sure crapped the bed on BEV. Probably hoped their existing mediocre technology would still be desirable.toyota should have a ton of new hybrids in the works.
not to mention their BEVs, but so far those haven't given me anything to be interested in.
pretty much the trend so far on BEVs.For being the first out of the gate in high-volume hybrid rollout, they have sure crapped the bed on BEV. Probably hoped their existing mediocre technology would still be desirable.
I am very unimpressed about using cabin air to cool the battery, finding out that pet hair clogs that system and kills the battery and then continuing to sell the system including generational updates without fixing the issue for longer than a decade. That was an easily solvable problem.I wouldn't call Toyota's hybrid system "mediocre". There are many aspects of it that they are right about ... Society as a whole would be better for now, and for quite a ways into the future, if mass-market vehicles were all hybrid as opposed to 90% non-hybrid combustion-engine 10% full BEV. And there's no energy-source issues to overcome and this approach doesn't strain battery supply. (essentially, we collectively can get more benefit out of fewer batteries)
IIRC the new Sienna is 100% hybrid powertrain (4 cyl gas engine + Hybrid Synergy Drive).
My beefs with the Prius weren't related to the powertrain's design, layout, or effectiveness ... but rather its calibration, and the calibration of the vehicle surrounding it. The current Prius on TNGA platform reportedly fixed the chassis-calibration issues but broke the styling.

That steaming turd was probably the poster child for why EV's suck. Thankfully, I think every other available option is better.True. Same criticism can be levelled at the Nissan Leaf ... and that vehicle doesn't have a petrol-engine backup!

The Sienna is the 4 cyl also. The only one you'll get in a reasonable time is the RX though. It was... Leaning more towards a Sienna Hybrid or rx450H because the highlander only offers 4 cylinder hybrids now
@toyota - put the turbo hybrid from the tundra in there
that will never happen, don't let the hybrid fool you, that engine was built for towing and outright power, not efficiency.
I was jonesing for a 23 tundra based Sequoia (every trim comes with the Hybrid motor), but its just too big.

Maybe you should walk into your dealer and order one. A little bird told me they will be released this year. BUT you'll be waiting till Nov/Dec.Wouldn't mind a Hybrid Corolla Cross.....but no joy. For $5k more might as well go with a RAV4
all Toyota/Lexus have the same wheel bolt pattern spec?
Towing and outright power is what I want... Shove it into the F sport package
