Any GTAM'ers own an electric vehicle?

Ouch. In an effort to dodge a recall, tesla formally submitted that the MCU is a wear part like brakes or light bulbs that needs to be replaced several times during the useful life of the car. This is the screen in your car that controls everything and costs thousands to replace.

Sounds world-leading to me. /s

World leading for profits! Just read this on Reddit. What a silly move. Thing fails and you crash. Awesome move Elon.

But don't worry. They changed the defaults. When it craps the bed, it turns on the defroster and sets the cabin temperature to 22C. Done. No screen needed. With the way EM wants the car to make decisions, I am slightly surprised the driver gets to pick the temperature or where the air goes anyway. Those choices seem much easier for a car to make than which direction you want to move.

It’s protecting you from yourself. Like RH did when it sold peoples shares to protect them from volatile market conditions.

It’s been an hour and nobody has chimed in on what a sound business decision it is

wait for it..

Oh (gasp!) who could you two possibly be talking about?

It wouldn't (gasp!) be the same guy who in the very first reply to this very thread said that the battery in Volts would be needing replacement "soon", would it?

I just checked my 2011 with ~170,000 (and counting) KM on it, almost 4 years after that reply. Yep, original battery, still working great.

Sadly, it doesn't guess what direction I want to go, so I have to manually move a shifter lever like a mere peasant.

And when the heated seats controller crapped out GM fixed it under warranty, they didn't say it was a "wear item" and have the computer lock the seat heaters to the "High" setting and tell me that was a failsafe setting.

Bumpers and roof also still firmly attached as well!

A GM car which lasted 170km and 9 years?

Can't wait for the videos of the new Teslas* flipping out and ramming things when their "copilot" tries to make a 3 point turn in traffic.

* providing the NHTSA even allows it.

Backing my wifes car into the garage with less than an inch clearance on the mirrors causes every sensor to freak out. It would be extra special if it decided to launch me through my neighbours house instead.

All I can say is one company continues to prosper and grow and can't make cars fast enough and has the buzz any company on earth would kill for.

The other company produced a lame duck product that myself, the buying public and the market saw thru and dismissed and a few gtam owners proclaim it as a revolution. Haha

Nuff said..

not fast enough, not cheap enough, quality control is an idea instead of a process.

Also lets get real, you`re ******** on a company which was founded 113 years ago, owns 12 brands and had sales of almost 8 million world wide in 2019.

Put some respect on their name, they've earned it.

Unmuted Sunny for a moment.

Same old song and dance I see, 246 pages and almost 5000 responses later.

Still ignores posts that don't suit his rhetoric and just posts his own. Can't defend anything.

But still all over Musk like a schoolgirl fawning over the high school football team jock.

Rah rah Tesla, can't build a quality car, only managed a meagre profit recently because they sold emissions credits, otherwise they'd have lost another ~$300m.

Poor old GM only made $4 billion in the third quarter of 2020 alone. Hard times.

<yawn>

i should have remembered i did correctly diagnose delusional before responding. i'll make myself a sticky note on the monitor to do so going forward.

How's your Blackberry stock doing, Sunny?

How much is it down since they tossed in the towel selling phones?

Above posted almost 2 years ago

As stated I felt their software pivot was on the right track when they left the hardware biz.

Enjoy your gains, my friends. More to come. You'll see. you're welcome.
