Any golfers here ?

I play about once a month to keep some friends happy , it’s pretty crowded on Burlington/Oakville courses and you can get backed up for long waits . Watching a guy take 3-5 mins to set up a shot , then put it in the buckwheat anyway drives me bananas . At least there is always beer after .

Golf needs shot clocks. Forget waiting for the hole to clear. X minutes after you arrive at the tee box, the next foursome is coming. Play faster or wear a hard hat.

There is a slow play penalty at PGA events. There was a bit of a meltdown over one handed out last weekend in a LPGA event and one at The PGA Championship in May.

It's barely enforced. Some of the wankers on PGA need a club to the head. They aren't much better than the guy CC was annoyed at. Step up to the ball and get your shot off in a few seconds. It doesn't take minutes. You are good, rely on talent and muscle memory. If it takes you five minutes to hit a shot, you should not be on the tour.

I delivered my sons clubs to him on my motorcycle.

He had been visiting friends in Newmarket when an impromptu game opportunity arose but he did not have his clubs with him.

With no cars available, I put on the side cases on my bike and strapped his walking bag with rain cover in place across the seat and cases with rock straps.

Placed his shoes in the side cases and got there for his T-time.

Nice bonus impromptu bike ride for me.

A friend of mine has taken his Hockey bag and stick in the same manner.

Where do you usually play?
All over the GTA and southern Ontario, try to find a deal when possible but COVID changed that

Over the past 2 weeks I've been able to play some courses out towards Port Elgin/Kincardine (work), and locally I played at National Pines (Clublink), RedCrest (League) and Scarlett Woods (Muni)

I played Woodington Lake also with their 36 Hole deal. On Underpar right now

So pretty much anywhere that isn't a goat track ☺️

I try to avoid weekends ($$$) unless it's twilight or a course farther out

Honestly finding golf balls is a part of the fun, it's like an easter egg hunt
Even better when you find a tour quality ball 😄 $$

The ball retriever I have is awesome. Super cheapie thing that gets me several balls every round if there’s enough water features.

The last round I played I think the green keeper was having some fun, there were abandoned balls right in the middle of most fairways. It was odd.

This is my most used club. I’m an absolute expert with it…. 10' Ball Retriever | Golf Town Limited
I don't have a ball retriever in my bag and can only remember a few times where it would have been useful. I find far more golf balls than I lose, so I'm not concerned if I put one or two into the water every round. Half the time I won't even go into the bush looking for a ball because I don't want to get eaten alive by mosquitos.

Ticks and poison ivy too
Some golf balls are just not worth going after

Golf Town has a flash sale on. Picked up a driver with a draw bias as obviously all my problems are equipment related and not related to my lack of correct technique. In my defence I did read that technology has come a long way since my old driver that is about 12 years old now in terms of more forgiveness. The good news is that the old driver is still worth about $150 so I’m actually not out a bucket load of cash.

Ah, there's my problem. My R9 driver is about 14 years old.:D I bought it used at least 5 years ago. My Burner irons are even older, but I can hit most of them fairly well and like their feel. I've tried a few demo drivers over the years and have just decided to keep using the clubs I have because even the newer technology can't seem to help my game. I'm not about to spend good money for lessons, because improving my score just isn't that important to me.

I have a tee time for 10am on Thursday so I'm hoping the weather will cooperate.

I have an R11S. The irons are great, I’m working on getting rid of the slice with lessons etc. If the new driver helps that’s a big bonus. I have a few $20 kijiji specials that are just fine too, both TaylorMade hybrids (my favourite clubs). I got a smoking deal on all my clubs when I bought them years ago so I don’t feel too bad getting myself a treat.

I’m out for a round tomorrow too!

Thunderstorm, downpour, drizzle and eventually cleared. Lost my very first ball of the day on the first shot. Found 3 more. Nothing like wandering round large open fields waving lightning conductors about while the sky rumbles.

We were rained out. Got to the fifth green and was having a great game then the skies opened up. We bailed and the others got rain-checks. I don't pay because I'm an employee, so no worries if I don't play the full 18. Hope to continue this game on Tuesday, weather permitting.

To get rid of your slice and maybe any other bad shot that 'ails' you, you might take a look at this video at ~4:50
