Any Ajax Riders ????

Anyone planning a ride today (Friday), I took the day off to go for a ride, thinking around noonish.

I'm also in Ajax (Harwood and Rossland) and go for a ride every evening. Wife gets home at 6PM and then there's the kids, so usually I can't get out until 7-8pm, then I ride for about an hour.

Can't make it during the day today though :(

BTW: We have similar looking bikes.

Hi RodneyBR; not sure I can go tonight, check back at 6pm as I will know by then. I also hope to get out on the weekend, mornings most likely.

Yeah r bikes are similar :)

Riding Sunday morning from Port Perry to Gooderham (hwy 507) at 7:30 AM. I posted it in the rides thread if you guys are interested.

Unfortunately, mornings are not great for me. I have to chat with the wife, but we planned on going on a ride (2up) up north. Fall colors are nice this time of year. I was thinking Uxbridge and stop for dinner/coffee.

Any recommendations?

If you go a bit further north, you can ride along the south shores of Lake Simcoe. I posted some info about it here:

http://www.gtamotorcycle.com/vbforu...-Jackson-s-Point-to-Eastbourne-on-Lake-Simcoe

You can start at Wynhurst Beach and travel right across to Jackson's point (or vice versa ... or both!). Some of the roads are slower but it has great scenery & cottages. I'm sure the fall colours are great up there too. I think if you leave Ajax, you could be there in 1/2 hour - 45 minutes. Of course, if you want to head further north, you could check out the Muskokas but that would require considerably more time.

Cool. Thx for the suggestion :)

Hi RodneyBR; sorry I can't go tonight, I have to drive the kids around.

Went out this afternoon for 3 hours, it was great. 401 to the 115, got off at 7A west, drove thru Cavan (a woman driver almost hit me here) and Bethany, north on 35, west on 7, south on 12, west on 47 and south on lakeridge. a few stops along the way to enjoy the outdoors.

Change in plans, riding north on Monday now. All still welcome, I'm going to start a thread in the rides area.

maybe if the weather holds and they have an east end pick up point. I'd probably only have a couple of hours (hence the desire for an east end joining point) I understand Uxbridge is a nice destination. And there's a nice bakery on the way for coffee and sweets(or whatever) in Goodwood.

We did meet up for a ride to the shed. It was both cold and wet.
Next time I think we will ride on the east side of T.O.

I'm hoping for at least a few more good rides before I store the beast.

I'll be out now and then, but the rain is going to suck and you can't push it too much because traction is so reduced. I laid down the bike for the first time in many years about this time last year when it got cold in the fall. I didn't realize that Avon's I got with the bike turned into ice skates when it got cool.

I fell in the fall. Ya, I'm hilarious.

Was it wet when you laid her down? But you're right, when it gets cold the tires don't have the same traction. Although, the engine loves it ;)

It was not wet. The front tire would totally break traction, no warning or feel. I reproduced it going slightly slower (didn't drop the bike this time) on an industrial road and took a picture of the skid mark. I bought a brand new set of Road 2's after this.

Front tire skid.
