Another "Whats my bike worth thread?"

Hmm... how about 8k then? Lol
I haven't totally decided in selling because I like it so much though
no, anything above 7k I wouldn't go for it. But that is me, I tend to not care much about the bike not having a scratch, judging from my recent experience selling a track bike, people out there want everything in perfect conditions and also cheap.

How many conversations did I have like this:

Buyer: can you drop the price, the bike has fairing damage?
Me: The reason the bike is so cheap is because it has fairing damage!
Buyer: Umm I don't know, i am going to go buy something 2k more expensive and with less goodies but with good fairings?
Me: MMMKKAAAYYYYY

Wonder if I could get 7k because I'm thinking of getting something else.
2011 cbr600rr
Around 23k km
Few scratches on fairing
Dropped once at stop.
Only mod is yoshi slip on
Only owner is me

15k FIRM

I have a 2007 Ninja 650R with ~25,000 kms on it. I bought it two years ago as a huge newb. My friends tell me it has been in an accident due to blue spray paint getting on the metal parts of the bike (lazy fuks didn't even take the plastics off the bike before repainting it). I dropped it twice, once in my driveway and the other time while trying to make a u-turn.

The plastics did not get cracked. Just scuffed a little. Mirror also got scuffed a bit.

Mods/Extras include:
Zero Gravity Windshield (Stock screen included in sale)
Fender Eliminator Kit (Not on bike)
Sport Handle Bars (lower, original included)
Rear Stand

When/If I sell the bike this up coming season, I'm going to be very upfront about its issues in my kijiji ad. Given the bikes downfalls (nice pun??) How much do you think I should ask?

$3500 too high?

You probably could have gotten more for that bike if you spent a couple of hundred to fix the fairings.
These things do make a difference.

I did, I got a new set of track fairings for 150 in almost perfect condition then had it painted black, , never had the chance to put them on the bike because i sold it before they were ready lol.

$3500 is fine.

I'm always very insistent to new riders to buy a bike that isn't in perfection condition because it's cheaper and they're 99.999999999999999999% going to drop it lol

I never dropped mine. I have 3000 km and my wishful thinking for a winter like 2011's was just that. :(

I did drop the course's bike though! That bothered me because it was avoidable, but I guess they all are.

Edit: In retrospect I may have sort-of had a quasi drop while I wasn't on it. It tilted in the truck while unloading and slid down. One strap still attached. I was ******. No scratches though. Better than someone else though. This guy admitted that his bike (new) fell right out of the truck onto the pavement. Damn that sucks.

Lol... It's winter, I'm trolling, nothing personal.

No worries, figured as much lol

At least the bike show is this weekend!

Off season and butt **** nowhere (no offense if anyone lives there lol)

If you follow the market, prices drop as you move away from GTA.

^This. Wait til spring/summer and look at prices again in the GTA. $7K asking will be common.

Also, the generation of the bike is more important than model year imo. Especially when a single generation can stretch on for 6 or more years. I'd gladly take an older bike with substantially fewer kms over the same bike that is newer but with higher kms.

if you want a fair market evaluation for any vehicle use the auto trader website, which will compare your vehicle to all of those for sale. This should give you a fair price. remember sentiment is only valuable to you, not to the buyer
