Another lockdown=less riding?

Tell me how lockdowns work again ?

@pfbmgd i didn't read the article, however, how many people have been vaccinated there versus here?...as of March 29, anyone over the age of 16 was eligible for one...as of March 14, roughly 17.6% of Texans had been vaccinated with at least one dose...compare that to our measly what 2%?

They're not in the same situation that we are.

Vaccinations (US 32% at least one dose, Canada 16%): Coronavirus vaccine tracker: How many people in Canada have received shots?

Total infections, if one makes the assumption that once infected a person is immune - may not be 100% but let's suppose. (Texas 10% of the population has been an official proven case, Canada 2.7%): Coronavirus Update (Live): 133,674,287 Cases and 2,898,588 Deaths from COVID-19 Virus Pandemic - Worldometer And it's highly likely that the actual number of infections is considerably higher than the proven number, in both cases.

The higher number of people resistant to infection there, whether by vaccination or by having been infected, means they can get away with stuff that we currently can not, unless we want to go through the same cycle of infections and deaths that they have, which we don't. Their death rate per million citizens thus far in the pandemic is two and a half times what ours is.

Let's also keep in mind that Texas (population 29 million) is running at about 100 covid19 deaths per day, and Canada (population 38 million) is running at around 30 covid19 deaths per day. Per capita, their current run-rate of deaths per million citizens every day is roughly what Canada's worst time in the entire pandemic was ... that's not exactly an enviable position to be in.

For now ... they can keep their full sports stadiums.

CDC has issued a travel advisory against coming to Canada. Our politicians are doing such a good job. Failure to procure enough vaccines, and the inability to make our own. Now another stay at home order. I'm going to ride my bike. I don't care.

Know what's funny and sad at the same time?

The daily number of new covid19 cases in the USA per million citizens, is almost exactly the same as what ours is. Their covid19 current daily deaths per million citizens, is three times what ours is, and has been for quite some time (which in itself makes one say "hmmm" about their testing - how many cases are they missing down there?). So DESPITE having vaccinated twice as many people per capita as our lackluster effort has, the USA is STILL at least as risky, possibly three times more risky, in terms of catching covid19 as Canada is.

So where's the CDC's travel advisory against Americans travelling to the USA?

Canada has had a travel advisory against travel to the USA for a year ...

Yes, but the US cases are dropping fast as their vaccine program continues to accelerate. Face it, Trudeau blew it with the procurement, the refusal to stop international travel, and his delayed approach to closing the U.S. border. We'd be way out front if we had enough vaccines, but we don't.

Who needs manufacturing and building things when you can just trade each other houses amirite?

The world has 7.5 billion people . What is the percentage of 133 million positive cases out of 7.5 billion . 2.9 million deaths reported out of 7.5 billion . But what is the standard for the reporting ?

Funny you never posted your source for Canadian deaths vs Texas . Just because you have a " covid " death does not mean you didn't have other core morbidities . It just means you had the vid .

Yes I would trust the Liberal government . They have handled thing so well so far .

I have a buddy in Arizona his winter home . He already had his vaccine for $40 bucks . Plus 10% off groceries that day . He is not even a citizen .

Looks like Dougie may issue a stay at home order Thursday . With strict essential items only stores open . With isles closed to non essential items .
I have never seen such a useless pack of mules as Doug Ford and his sidekick "Mr. Top Doc" and the whole lot. I can't believe I voted for this guy, well when I voted for him I thought he had balls, he doesn't.

Listening to AM radio 640 a reporter asks Doug Ford what is he going to do with open golf courses and packed big box stores, what is his plan. Doug says; "I will pass over the mic to my medical officer for that question". What the hell are you talking about man? You are the goddamn leader, open your big mouth and say something.

Then the mic is given to his sidekick Top Doc and what do I hear?

I'm not going to make drastic predictions or speak for the business community, we have to wait and see

And these are the morons who are supposed to guide us through the pandemic? ?

The way I am reading this at the moment is that is, "Recommended" to travel only locally. Blue Mountain, Parry Sound, Niagara Falls.

To me that is local. Who can say it is not. Show me the Law.
You can't cross regions, unless you and all your buddies from other regions meet at the local Costco ?

Yup Doug Ford is a a complete failure . He is passing the buck .

I going to get to exercise run up Blue Mountain, swim in the Niagara waters, fish Parry Sound.
If our Premier is allowed to give us the BS, then so can I.
I need to ride and keep my mental health.

I never said otherwise.

Evidently you need to be spoon-fed.

Texas is in this chart - total cases, total deaths, population in right column: United States Coronavirus: 31,638,596 Cases and 572,856 Deaths - Worldometer

And here is their detailed information, take note of their "daily new cases" which is on a level-to-declining trend. Texas Coronavirus: 2,819,002 Cases and 49,138 Deaths (COVID-19 ) - Worldometer

Here is the all-countries chart: Coronavirus Update (Live): 133,856,896 Cases and 2,904,466 Deaths from COVID-19 Virus Pandemic - Worldometer

And here is the detailed information for Canada (they don't break it down by province), take note that our "daily new cases" is on a rapid increase: Canada Coronavirus: 1,028,041 Cases and 23,173 Deaths - Worldometer

Worldometers cites their sources - scroll down.

And don't get into the "other morbidities" discussion. My brother-in-law has had diabetes which has been under control for 20 years. If he dies of covid19, it will be listed as a co-morbidity. Does it matter that perhaps he could go another 10 or 20 years if it weren't for that?

(Thankfully, that's now less likely to happen ... he got his first jab a couple days ago)

Does a person who crashes their car into a tree and dies of a head injury, die of a head injury, or from a car crash?

Bottom line is the cases in Texas are going down . Canadas population (35 million) is spread out over 9.9 million square kilometers . Texas is 700k square kilometers and the population of 30 million . we are way more spread out hence the lower numbers .

Core morbidities are a major factor with the covid . Just because your diabetes has been under control for 20 years . Does not mean it will not change as you get older . A person with stage 4 brain cancer has a a slim chance of survival . If they get the vid or any other flu or infection it will probably kill them . If a healthy young person gets the covid . Their survival is almost guaranteed . Now did the person die from covid yes . But was it just because of the covid or was is due to serious core morbidity that weekend his system ?

My point all along has been the same . Protect the old and sick . Let the healthy go on with their lives . The whole handling of this situation has been mishandled .

WARMINGTON: No patients at Sunnybrook's COVID field hospital?
