What good would it do anyways? You can't file a police report every single day. And even if you do, cops probably won't care much.

As you know, I use helmet cams and now also have a few mount points on the V-Strom for my old GoPro; I've pointed out my helmet/bike cam to a few morons on the road; some of them back off, others just flip you off. And some folks are just very curious about the camera and will ask you about it at a red light, etc.

Still, in the event of an accident, it's a valuable asset. That said, if you do anything stupid and get caught somehow, it's also damning evidence.

I have a 2.1 watt 445 mm laser under my tail hooked to my horn button. The lense is set out of focus enough that it won't cause permanent vision damage but it is enoughvto make them back off and stay back

thats my trick, i use those and ball bearings. this works really well. through their grill or off the windshield,it gets the point across. great post

If someone were to throw ball bearings at a car they can, of course, be charged with a variety of offenses.

Got a tailgater? Why not simply pull to the side or slow down and motion them by? Or does everyone here have a 500 pound ego?

I swerve back and forth in my lane a few times. The tailgater usually backs off because they think my bike is about to collapse.

How does this work for different sized vehicles?
Also be prepared for an insurance claim on your behalf if you were to use it and they rear-ended you?

Also I will admit I was tailgating a Jeep once (Going way under the speed limit side by side with another car) and he had a row of fog lights on his roof facing backwards and when he turned them on I couldn't see a thing lol.

Made me back off.

I think the camera is a great idea. It may not help in all situations but it can't hurt. BTW, the cops would need a warrant to seize it for evidence against you. Long before they got that (and I doubt for HTA they would ever get it) you could delete the images.

And how do you respond when the raging driver attack you with their car? Pretty hard to argue a 10 to 1 weight advantage.

Car will always win, keep that in mind. I usually give a small downward gesture to slow down and then wave and say thanks. Courtesy goes a long way and helps other bikers they encounter in future. I used to use the broken spark plug ceramics in my past when I was younger, and less wise in my case, but now I try to take the high road. If people gain a dislike for bikes we all end up paying for it in the end.

When I turn around and wave and they see the size of me. Most back off ;)

A warrant is not required if its on you when you get arrested.
