America is no longer FREE

Thats f'in scary.

The sky is falling! The sky is falling!

Haven't you heard, the sky is falling! Again!

Quick! Cover your heads with tin foil, because the sky is falling again!

It's not falling, it's descending ever so slowly.

The American cops are proving that they're the scumbag thugs that those paying any sort of attention always knew they were. Now the politicians are proving (well, even more) that they don't care about the citizens, but rather about their corporate banking friends, the continuation of their continuously stronger criminal government and lining their own pockets. And if you've paid careful attention, they're moving further and further towards global governance, which will require a police state to quell the inevitable uprising that is coming. U.N. Agenda 21 and its friends are on paper, they are not "theories."

Turbodish will love this new world if it comes to pass, I suspect.

I wonder how many will flee to Canada...

The legislation also would deny suspected terrorists, even U.S. citizens seized within the nation's borders, the right to trial and subject them to indefinite detention. Senate Intelligence Committee Chairman Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., had sought an exception to the provision for U.S. citizens, but her effort failed, 55-45.

this is completely against what the american amendment says

im not sure if any of you remember the news headlines 1 month ago; america is building a brand new border fence to block out "terrorists" from entering canada other than the borders we have which are patrolled by american and canadian guards.

the new fence will block out americans trying to flee to canada when martial law comes into effect.

i don't ever really plan visiting america, other than Las Vegas -- not even the close cities bordering canada like new york. i will not bother going through those airport body scanners and let some punk *** tsa agent with a high school education try and think they have complete authority over me.

i will be going to vegas a couple times just after 201, and will be smiling when i tell the tsa they can strip search me

Who else would respond to a declaration of police state with ridicule?

The scary part is that our current government will allow the US to send their cops to arrest Canadian citizens in Canada. Maybe they won't need to if they also declare Martial Law on us. They could just have CDN cops ship us off to Guantanamo.

The problem with this kind of legislation is the danger that exists with all vague laws. Overreach.

Habeus Corpus is a very basic tenet of the common law system and should not be so easily bypassed.

Well, there are principles and there is reality.. While we were fighting the Cold War, our ruling class was forced to maintain a relatively free society and a relatively large middle class as a matter of propaganda - "Look, our people have more luxuries than behind the Iron Curtain and their freedoms are respected." Now that there is no alternative to the capitalist aristocracy, they can focus on reigning us in through surveillance, overcriminalization, taking away our free speech and taking away our rights that we thought were protected by our respective constitutional documents. Are we living in a Stalinist dictatorship? No, not even close.. But, we're heading in that direction.

Stalin doesn't compare very well. He was literally a raving lunatic, people close to him say that during war maneuvers and other incidences where people (even his "own" people) were being killed, he would work himself into a froth.

To quote one article, he said:

“Death is the solution to all problems. No man - no problem.” This was due, in part, to having a very cruel nature and being without owning the least sense of concern for others. Stalin seemed to attribute an almost mystical importance to the act of murder, and appears to have sought it out as if it was, in its very execution, a curative for all that ailed society.

There is no "almost" mysticism involved, Stalin and many of the world leaders today are involved in what can only be described as a death cult - Skull & Bones being the major one worldwide - and the reason that the german SS wore the bones on their clothing. The Bushes, Kerry, and others in the presidential circles in the states are avowed Bonesmen. It is not "like" the SS cult, it's the same one.

This world doesn't work the way most people think it does. Not at all. The reason we're not a "Stalinistic dictatorship" everywhere is that people will, and have, resisted it. So the "leaders" have to creep up on it with incrementalism.

Now the States is saying that all of America is a battlefield and the enemy combatants are its own people. The time is close.

Yes, because suspending human rights in the most powerful nation on the planet that's bordering us directly is no big deal

This right here is some scary ****.
Every single time a law has been erected, it has beenover used and it's limits stretched tot he point of abuse.
The difference being that this law enables the powers that be to kill, torture, kidnap, interrogate, indefinitely imprison, and never even charge or afford a tiral to anyone they see fit, for whatever reason they want. And no one ever has to be held accountable.
Can you think back in history of some other examples of freedoms like these, afforded to higher powers in a political system?
How did that go?
Is this the makings of a civil war?

it is easier to erode our freedoms "for the greater good" than take them away out right. By the time the populace gets upset enough it will be too late, the technology will be in place to prevent any organized uprisings and do something about the leadership of any resistance.

Hey Mike, why did you join the armed forces? was it just to collect a pay cheque or did you believe in protecting the freedoms our charter gives us.
