Air Canada fined for no French

you can't be talking about the french then, all they know is retreating. :D

Hmm you mean like retreating from Vietnam before the yanks came in. Seems like an excellent idea in retrospect, intelligent even...or you mean retreating like being the first Nato forces to intervene in Libya.....or do you mean retreating like being the Foreign Legion and generally being one of the first of the miltary forces placed in harms way?

This conversation gets even better when you talk to a redneck yank who harps on about freedom fries until you ask him where the Statue of Liberty came from and what it symbolises.

I think people need to lighten up, not speaking french is no reason to sue a company and ruin their image. Just because the guy couldnt communicate with the flight attendent in english doesnt mean he has every reason to sue the whole company. He should learn english since English is also an official language, If I was the flight attendent, I wouldve owned him in so many ways that he would be too scared to even look at the flying planes from his balcony. I am not even kidding, hate these type of people. He needs to cheer up and give everyone a break. suing someone because they dont speak his language, wow what a dick move bro.

Wow, you're a hero, you would have owned him eh? How's that exactly? Seeing as Air Canada broke the law that is written in the books... The simple fact is, Canada has two official languages and therefore Air Canada has to have someone available that speaks both languages.

Didn't we beat beat the U.S. back because our Native Americans were stronger than theirs?

no my post was based on assumption but i am guessing, the french guy tried to talk to a flight attendent in his cute little french accent and the flight attendent was like dude hold on, i dont speak french, and the french guy got mad because he wanted a french attendent. all i am saying is, we are all humans, we have to understand the problems of each other, so what if the flight didnt have any french attendent, its not a life and death scenerio, the french guy shouldve understood the problem and just spoke in english..

Vietnam, they were hiding for christ sakes.
They were far from the first to intervene in Libya, that was a ploy by Obama to make the USA think the USA wasn't getting in to a war that won't benefit them. They also told the people that the the mission wouldn't be led by the USA, but it took about a week for that to be proven a lie. The USA were only using the coalition as a smoke screen. The French foreign legion is a joke, they are used a spawns and nothing more. The only reason the french went along with the Libya mission was because Obama was giving them the credit, and would protect the French. Go wave your flag some where else. I trust the french less then a priest with a choir boy.

Not waving a flag...it's called history, education etc. Sadly though these facts usually catch people out and don't jive with a preconceived idea about a nation. Do you know many french by the way or are you just jumping on the redneck bandwagon?

the rest of Canada always makes the effort to include French on labels, education...etc. Montreal doesn't give a hoots about english labelling on their products. I don't know why Canada is up their ***** so much. Leave them with their French language and separatist ideas because I know that's what they are leaning towards. A lot of the ppl there don't speak or understand English. My 2 cents from living in Montreal and in Toronto.

I think to be fair (keeping in mind I love a good French WW2 rifle for sale, never fired, dropped once joke...) the French military does have a pretty good record with the exception of that blunder during the second world war.

-We have to keep in mind that Napoleon took a pretty good crack at world domination.
-The French and the English fought many wars that hardly ended in one sided embarrassments (for either side).
-The French Navy played a major roll in US Independence.
-Even in WW2 the loss to the Nazis was more about command blunders (or German tactics) and we have to keep in mind that French divisions covered the evacuation at Dunkirk fighting what they knew was a battle with no chance to win or evacuation.

Of course none of this has much to due with the Quebecois.

If I could remember correctly a few wars were lost by the French to the British. This was for the islands in the Caribbean
