Acting like an idiot FORKS OF CREDIT CRASH

There's some sense to that statement. My point is that all we saw was that he messed up 2 corners because he was going faster than he could handle and he passed a few folk kinda close. The reactions I'm seeing her aren't group policing, it's just plain ol' bashing. Also, I look like him but I'm from this country. I grew up in the neighbourhood at the top of the hill right after that Twyn Rivers corner.

I see you're trying to be the voice of reason. That's fine. I also see the guy rode like a dick. Seriously, is internet bashing such a painful ordeal? It carries a the weight of a nerf ball.

That would be frikkin awesome.

Really? We're bashing him?
Maybe we're a little annoyed that clowns like that use the same roads as us and as a result we can have our lives ended as a result of this kid.

You're taking this way too personal...

If that's classified as an idiot riding, I've seen way worse on group rides from many years ago lol.

My hunch is still the hidden banana peel that got him, even though in his post race conference he said it was the bump in the road that caused his lowside.

P.S the forks of credit suck.:p

If I make a mistake like those, I'm embarassed and disappointed in myself because I know better. The fact that they are frequent for him and he posts them on youtube leads me to believe he doesn't realize that he has a problem

lol seriously, you're claiming people can't be hurt online and therefore it's justified? I suppose I am trying to voice some reason here because all I'm reading are assumptions. If you just enjoy ripping on someone for making mistakes then say so have your fun. Calling it some kind of righteous reaction is a lie. The only reason I commented in this thread is because I was expecting to see a real jack@$$ but instead I witnessed a video of a pretty common noob.

Yep. I've seen plenty of videos posted here on GTAM where the rider makes similar mistakes and goes down. The comments on those threads usually go "dayamm... sucks about the accident dood but glad you're ok! Next time be careful with [so and so]". However in this thread, we see the same thing except the kid made some inconsiderate passes before hand so suddenly he's a wannabe ghost rider.

Watched the video again up to the crash. The guy IS riding like a real jack@$$. Of all the places to do it, as well. On that road where the locals can't stand us. If he's got a valid drivers permit the noobnesss is irrelevant where the rules of the road are concerned.
I'd be offended if he were offended for being dogpiled.
I'm curious why you don't see it.

Two years ago, I was riding Forks East->West and coming uphill to the hairpin at a reasonable speed (10 over?), with my wife on the back. Some dumbass straight-lined the hairpin going in the opposite direction and jutted out in front of us with about 50 feet to spare, and I had to panic stop in front of a group of 4-5 riders to avoid him.

Was just fine, but one of my more heart-stopping moments and I'm glad I was paying attention. This is also the hill this knob was ripping up at 100 km/hr.

So yup, I've almost been taken out by a dumbass of that calibre and riding like that endangers everyone else. (Not to mention pissing off the locals.)

Hope the loser doesn't move up to a 600 SS at least!

Ok. You're clearly misunderstanding me and digressing from the point so I'll just try to re-simplify my original sentiment which all of this back n' forth has clouded: Nothing extraordinary happened in this video.
Rules of the road, dude being offended, etc has nothing to do with it. I have no interest in defending the noob in the video, just wanted to point out the overreaction. I probably should've just said "meh..." and moved on.

It would be great if they converted a part of Downsview to a track.

There was talk about that about 18-20 for a drag/track years ago but got shut down because of noise for surrounding homes.

Figured that would be the case. I'm kind of surprised they even considered it. Too bad though

riding beyond your limits: you're a pu55y if you don't. you're an idiot if you do. You can't win either way. Threads and videos are way overhyped. He has some cool drifting car vids though.

You're taking this way too personal...

Really? Too personal?

Why do we encourage ignorance and stupidity in this day and age?

Maybe im getting too old, but when someones lack of common sense endangers the well being of others that's where i draw the line.

Such commotion over nothing. Lack of skill? Sure. Lack of road manners? Yea a bit. Messed up a tight corner? Yep. So he's a noob. I didn't see anything out of the ordinary indicating that he was being especially reckless. Just speeding and some mildly inconsiderate passing. I'm not saying it's all good--it's not--I just don't get why this guy is being picked on so much. And I guarantee that every single one of us has crossed the yellow line at least once.

It's not nothing. It just seems like nothing because it's so common. That's not a good thing. He's being picked on because people are voicing what they're thinking. Should that stop? Is there an acceptable threshold?

Rules of the road has a lot to do here. They are for everybody. Imagine if everybody rode/drove like that. You said internet bashing can hurt people. I said if he were offended I'd be offended ie, he should take the comments and put them to good use. That's not digression, that's addressing the point.

Please don't be mad, I'm not. Just let me say my piece.;)

That's not really that quiet of an area to begin with, not to mention the planes still landing and taking off from there from time to time.
I call BS on their noise complaint argument but it is what it is.

Ok take it easy, I'm not angry or censoring anyone here. Remember what I said about assuming too much? Again, my point was that this video was hyped up and what I watched didn't merit the hype. Rules of the road are indeed irrelevant to my post because I'm not disputing them. I never speculated how the guy in the video might take all this criticism, that was you. I only pointed out that your argument was an assumption fallacy and mimic'd your wording in doing so (the line I'm referring to starts with: "seriously..."). I didn't mean to upset you or anyone, I just like to debate... "argue" even. But if you respond to my post I'll respond back cool? I'm surprised no one's busted out the popcorn yet.

On a separate discussion, here's what I agree with you on: Seeing so many noob errors on the street that we just consider it commonplace isn't a good thing. It might mean there is a lack of training among newbies or it might mean there are just so many new riders joining the hobby that we see so much more of it. I don't know. I don't think anyone should stop voicing their opinions but I do think a lot of people should learn to think twice before posting an opinion. It's my opinion and observation that we (myself included) have become a very judging society; preferring to make hasty conclusions to justify emotional outlet rather than objectively analyzing. I also agree with you that the guy in this video should take any criticism as an opportunity to learn but it's up to him to decide how to react. Calling him a dumb@$$ isn't going to help.

I just like to debate... "argue" even. But if you respond to my post I'll respond back cool?

Supercool. I don't find it useful to respond to threads and posts I agree with. I'd rather argue, it's good exercise for the melon and harmless. The harmless part I may be wrong about.:p
