Some people have raised the idea of a "trust issue" . I dont see that but I'm often wrong on stuff, your usually in full gear and groups meet up or not, when you run into somebody to talk to its a coffee shop or a park.
Theres not usually a lot of bar meets or much drinking, which can spark some bad behaviour.
It sounds like OP's spouse has a bunch of issues to deal with and this has become the tipping point, of course maybe she has a bunch of issues for him to deal with and he's not the weiney he looks like.
