Many people may not know they are cheating. They were told a path to follow for success and feedback along the way showed them they were on the path. They may not know that their path was provided by shysters.
I guess you didn't see the scud (wearing a balaclava, of course) at the protest at the Eaton's Center threatening to put someone ''six feet under'' right in front of a TPS member (who did nothing).
We don't have the ability to sustain Canadians. I don't understand the whole 'we need to save the world from themselves' mentality of our politicians. I understand WHY they're doing it, and it's not to benefit the general population of Canada.
My opinion, shut down the immigration door for 3-5 years, let the infrastructure catch up to the current challenges, and then SLOWLY re-open them.
But I'd be labeled a racist, or whatever other word people use, because I'm all for immigration...just responsible immigration.
If they were naive enough to fall for the scam are they smart enough to get an MBA job after graduating? If their marks aren't high enough they can apply for a review for 50% of the tuition fee. Results guaranteed. Cash preferred.
To be fair, the politicians are looking at a longer window than normal here. No immigration quickly leads to CPP collapse as your payments now go to your dad and young people now will make payments that go to you (with some invested buffer). Not enough people paying into CPP and boom.
The biggest proportion of people that have built their wealth from scratch have done so methodically with long term budgets, prudent risks and stable long term investments.
The biggest proportion of people that have dug their financial graves have done so erratically with short term thinking, high risk scams and speculation.
Bringing in 1,400,000 new people a year to live on the streets and pressuring food banks is insanity. It is the hallmark of a government desperate to cover up more serious issues by appearing to be woke to the world.
This was an interesting recent watch. It does have some cited sources for it's info. Don't let the clickbait'ish doom & gloom titling turn you off.
The basic premise is that issues are being caused by lack of integration - because of poor practices and/or an incoming population that doesn't WANT to integrate.
You mean he didn't go on pogey every winter? That is a low bar for our system to fix. If you work a seasonal job, you should be ineligible for EI (maybe once a decade or something to account for legitimate job loss). Work a different job in the winter. We all know most landscapers work for cash as plow operators every winter while collecting EI. Fix it. Fix it now. Easy. Tons of money saved.
Many European countries have a hidden royalty status. A nouveau riche person is welcome but doesn't buy into the inner circle of old money. Integration is simpler in the USA, show them your bank book.
Here we don't discriminate upon entry. All are considered equal, ignoring cultural differences that later cause conflicts. The unintended consequence is increased racism due to the conflicts.
If you have a non smoking house and tell new visitors not to smoke you are discriminating. If they, in ignorance, do smoke you don't invite them again and you are discriminating.
Correct. Someone who is flagged by CSIS as a known member of the Taliban gets the same consideration for immigration as someone from Kyiv fleeing the war in Ukraine.
I've seen listings for $400 bottles of ketchup and was told it's a way of boosting the sellers rating by having lots of listings, even though most of them are bogus.
My dad used to say... if someone throws lemons at you, make lemonade and sell it. So that's what I'm doing. A friendly lender just offered me a sweet deal on a 3-room student house he's forclosing near a diploma mill in the north.
Qa-ching - positive cash flow out of the gate. Looks like some of the remote colleges are partnering with landlords as they risk being restricted if they can't offer housing to foreign students. I'm smelling gravy.
