600 motorcycle insurance for M driver

If you want a supersport for the performance and nothing else will do, then you'll have to get a few more years under your belt unfortunately. If you just want something a bit "more" than the fz6 and are more interested in the look, I would consider the Vfr800.

Looks the part, pretty quick with plenty of bottom end torque, much more comfortable than a supersport and VERY reasonable insurance.

For what it’s worth I have a near life experience almost every week on my ninja ?

Funny side story @Trials - I was riding the twisties on Jones falls road in Elgin last week and I got a wasp in the neck that stung me repeatedly before I was able to pull over, skidded to a stop on some gravel in second gear locked my rear tire and then was running across someone’s lawn stripping off my gear cause it was still stinging me. Effing bastard wasp. Bike was sinking into the grass too on the kickstand almost fell over. Ended up with unknown number of horribly painful stings on the neck and chest

Atleast you got off safely. Similar thing happened to me last year riding down south, the one time i took my jacket off, 2 seconds later wasp gets into my shirt, quickly pulled over on what wasn't even a shoulder, since it was a narrow twisty road. Got the sucker out, stung all over my upper body and back, at that moment I realized my first aid kit is in the worst possible place, under all my luggage in the pillion seat. Applied after bite when I got to the campsite and now always have the kit on top, first thing with access.

to OP... the FZ6 is great, so are a lot of naked sport bikes. I wouldn't count 2 years as ready, unless you've taken trackday courses and spent lots of time on advance training. I've been riding for 4 years, and still haven't even touched a SS or inline 4, whole nother territory, and just as 2 stroke dirtbikes aren't fun on the street, neither are sport bikes off the track.

Two years in is one of the times that you're most likely to have an accident.
It's a period where you've learned most of the basics, but some people feel they've "mastered" their current bike.
Then they started to get cocky until it bites them.
After four years the accident rate begins to gradually decrease.
The 250 would have been a better bike to learn on, because you have to shift and work it more, to ride with the traffic flow.

What are some naked sport bikes you would recommend?

All the ones Evoex noted, MT-07 first, as I'm now biased toward that CP2 engine!

add CB650R, Vitpilen 701, and for other options, Yamaha XSR 700, or evena Ducati Hypermotard/scrambler

His current bike is 90 to 100 hp. Most of our suggestions have less power. I still don't understand what this "upgrade" is supposed to be providing other than newer.

Very good point. Maybe the CB650R is closest upgrade, being an inline 4 and an SS without fairings.

That said, I did go from an SV650 to a CB500 in my 2nd year of riding, everyone told me not to get less power, I enjoyed the CB500 much more due to being more comfortable, and oddly, insurance was more than the SV650

Probably more torque?

Essentially just obtained an M licence, aged 26 and looking for a 600SS. Insurance is still gonna be a chunk of change. Call your broker/agent and give them the top 2/3 you’ve had a crush on and see.

The FZ6 is an in-line 4 making decent power.

I’m not sure what other naked I’d recommend to increase the fun factor that would be considered and “upgrade’.

Personally, I’d look at what ever the additional expense would be for insurance, selling current bike and purchasing another to do some upgrades on the existing bike. Tinker with the suspension and some typical engine modes that would bring a few more HPs.

Pipe/exhaust, air cleaner, fuel remap and take it from there.

Of the many post of recommendations, there are some fun machines out there for sure but, still similar to the OP’s current ride in terms of engine performance.

The fz6 was just purchased as a get something to buy now I'm looking for something that catches looks and maybe a little torquier I don't care about top speed that much just acceleration

Your sprockets are probably 16/46 (2.875 gear ratio). Most bikes are happy with -1/+2. You may be able to go further with some research. With 15/48, your gear ratio is now 3.2. That improves torque at the wheel by 10% and acceleration by a similar amount in many situations.

How has maintenance been on the bike? Is it up to date with valve checks, throttle balance, air filter replaced, plugs (and maybe wires) replaced, etc? Those can affect power delivery.

XSR700 or Triumph Speed Triple are my recommendations for thrills and nods.

Some folks don’t like the floating bug eyes of the Triumph but, still a looker and the sound of the triple can extend your grin going through the gears.

The yammie has the looks but it’s a twin. Still decent power but, it’s not for everyone.

On a side note, I really wish Yamaha brought the tracer700 here, what a looker...

if you want fun, maybe a supermoto or hypermotard, just the power to weight alone is enough of a change

Sprockets are cheaper than changing a bike. Gear the FZ6 down and you should have tons of torque.
true, then i'd go back to my original suggestion. Honda CBR650R. inline 4 sportbike that won't break the bank and you'll be far more comfortable then a SS and get to the red light half a second slower then his SS buddies (if he has any).

forgot about the Triumph, good catch.

Street Triple 675 is a nice one.
