study guide yes. Still need to take a course in person but I know nothing of guns
I don't think so. I believe it needs to be in person to actually get the license.
I'm considering doing it this year. Not sure why as most firearms are now illegal...so does it even make much sense to have?
Absolutely not. Besides cultural differences, I don't have US healthcare insurance premiums and co-payments and deductibles in my budget. I do have Canadian CPP and OAS that I've paid into all my working life in my budget. As an early retiree ... this matters.
Need the PAL to resist the 51st state
Military wise Canada obviously can not fight the US but history has shown that local resistances can outlast. France in WWII, Vietnam, Afghanistan, etc.

No direct taxes are paid to the Monarhy. It does cost Canadian taxpayers approximately $70m/year to keep the Monarchy in place. The spending is partly ceremonial (Offices of the Governor General and Lieutenant Governors) and partly hosting and security costs for the state visits related to the Royal Family.
Not as much as I thought apparently, either way, he's supposed to be the head of state, why are new Canadians pledging elegance to a King that does not have our back.

I would guess there would be an equalization between Medicare and Medicaid, snd SSI/CPP if this far-fetched idea was evercame to fruition.
The systems are hard to compare as they are not Apples to Apples. It's my experience (lived in the US long enough to be eligible for Medicare) the levels costs are similar if you were to have an OHIP-compatible plan. The US system has more you can opt out of -- so if you take risks by not buying health insurance, your mileage will vary.
